So so delighted to have hosted my baby shower at the Cherry tree! The food, space and service was amazing, just perfect for what I needed. We had a buffet menu and the food was so tasty, all our guests left so happy. Penny was super helpful from start to finish. Would definitely recommend this cozy pub for intimate gatherings or just popping in for dinner! Love love love, thank you Penny!

Absolutely gorgeous pub with a very warm and welcoming vibe. We hosted our baby shower here and Penny was so kind and helpful. She helped me with the booking and answered all my questions very patiently and promptly. We were allowed to decorate the space and bring our own cake, which was fantastic. All our friends had a wonderful time. The food was good and was served warm and fresh. The staff was kind and polite. We’ll definitely recommend this pub for parties or a general visit.

My experience here was lovely. There was a warm welcoming fire place and a rustic Tudor style building made it feel homely. The waitress was very helpful and there was a clear allergens guide for our gluten free diner. The food came promptly and the plates were hot. All of the food was delicious and I will be visiting again.

Went for lunch at the newly opened Browns in Southgate. Wanted to see the changes since it used to be Ye Olde Cherry Tree pub and it did not disappoint. The Seafood Platter sharer is a must and they are dog friendly in certain areas, even inside, despite what the website says. They’ve done a lot of work reburbishing and decorating, and it’s reflected in the prices, but we’ll definitely be visiting again and would like to thank our server, Sarah, for going above and beyond.

Visited weeks ago, and finally got around to writing this review. We loved this cottage with an open fireplace creating the cosiest atmosphere.
Delicious schnitzel, perfect pie, crispy chips.
Service was pleasant.
Two things that desreoy the otherwise lovely experience:
• Bathrooms either need a good scrub or refurb. The state of walls, vents, radiators, etc. badly reflects the level of care.
• Slot machine – ruins the aesthetics
I would recommend visiting. But I am unlikely to return for the two points raised above.

Smart, decent food albeit a little on the pricey side. Fish and chips unfortunately comes with ‘minted pea purée’ rather than garden peas or mushy peas which is what I actually wanted. Nice outside area. Could have done without the ‘dress code’ sign near the door to be honest, not a fan of that type of snobbery. Maybe replace with “Welcome, come on in!” or something like that, make it feel a bit more friendly.

Really lovely pub with decent sized car park (enter reg at reception)
Extensive choices and well made food. Bar staff were a bit puzzled with my non alcoholic drink choice which took a while to sort out.
Food was delivered piping hot and promptly. The honey pot was a lovely dessert treat and made me feel like Winnie the Pooh lol

OK… Beautiful sunny day. No ice and no lemon for our second round of drinks… To keep us going the garlic bread with cheese was a gooeey, buttery delight, and I remember thinking… ahhh…. very promising. They’d messed up our booking so one of us needed to leave early so we ordered starters first just so she could eat with us and would then order mains and deserts after as apparently they were really busy. When starters arrived, they looked appetising enough but beyond the vibrancy of colour, the taste was average, no-one raved about the ‘creamy garlic oven baked mushrooms’ or the ‘Signature ( supposed king???) Prawns’ … (errm…sorry whoever signed these off as ‘king’ size needs to go spec savers… more like baby prince attendant prawns…) Still…the prawns were at least edible-unlike my so-called ‘ baked scallops and NOT ‘king’ prawns…’ If I’d never eaten scallops before I’d have never eaten them again, if this was the sole tasting of these usually beautiful ocean gifts… when I told them after sampling half of one of the two in the bowl with a friend and clearly leaving the other one and a half bland squidgy things passing themselves off as scallops uneaten… they said ‘people usually tell them earlier…’ huh? I told you when you asked me how the food was… oh .. OK.. coz’ that attitude just cost you 5 mains and 5 deserts today… coz weren’t no-one inclined carry on with any order today or will we be in the future…oops… Atmosphere was whatever you made amongst yourselves , so mediocre food aside we had a good time but not because of Ye old Cherry tree food or service but despite it and as sumptious as the gooeey cheesy ( flatbread) garlic bread was… that wouldn’t be enough to take me back there – although if in the area would grab a gooeey batch to go…
