We recently moved to the Kenwood area and have already been back to El Rancho Grande multiple times because we enjoy it so much. The food and service is consistently good!
Leo, the manager, does an amazing job making sure everything runs smoothly, and our waiter Gerardo has been incredibly friendly and hardworking every time we’ve come in. They both make the experience feel welcoming and personal.
It’s quickly become one of our go-to spots in the area. I’m really happy to have such a great restaurant nearby and will definitely keep coming back!

Had a wonderful experience on a busy Saturday evening! We were seated and greeted promptly, and our server Jay (probably not spelling that right, please forgive me!) was warm and attentive. Ordered some margaritas and apps and everything came to the table so quickly. I had the Enchiladas Blanca which looked so good I dug right in before taking a photo, grrrr! But I did snap one of my delicious Blue Margarita, lol. Such a fun time and everyone from guests to staff seemed to enjoy themselves, wonderful festive ambiance and worth every penny. Thank you El Rancho Grande Kenwood!

I’m not usually the type to write reviews, but after this experience, I feel like I should warn others. When we first arrived, the staff seemed friendly. The hostess was smiling, and everything looked fine. However, once we were seated, things quickly became uncomfortable.
Our waiter behaved in a very inappropriate manner, repeatedly touching my 14-year-old sister. This made all of us extremely uncomfortable. At the time, I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I let it go.
When the food arrived, we found a blonde hair in my girlfriend’s meal. When we informed the waiter, he did not apologize and simply said “okay” before taking the plate. Before giving it back, I tore off a small piece of the food so I could tell whether it had been replaced. About 10 minutes later, he returned and said, “Here you go, no more hair or anything in your food,” attempting to make it seem like the meal had been remade. It was very clear that it was the same plate.
I laughed out of shock and decided to speak to the manager. The woman standing at the front beside the manager was glaring at me the entire time, as if I was in the wrong for complaining. Not only was there hair in my girlfriend’s food, but the birria I ordered contained large pieces of chewy fat that were not edible in the tacos. The manager apologized, but it did not feel sincere. He repeatedly said, “Okay, please come back,” without truly addressing the issues. Avoids this place!!

It is surprisingly good for a chain restaurant at a strip mall location. We go for lunch so can’t speak for the drinks but this is a great spot for some American Mexican food. Try the Birria. It’s excellent.
Fair prices but kinda what you expect from the location.

They said this not burnt asparagus And they service was disrespectful I said don’t touch my food and he did and brought back some garbage drinks was hot I’m really disappointed with this time there I left hungry read to fast I smell like burnt food my children said when I got home like I new the food was burnt never will eat that again said it was peas in the rice kept swiping stuff of the table all fast walking by us are we asked for service told us we get a box for I wanted food I have to buy then took it off hope the best for tomorrow but late night trip there they had run out of hospitality and humbleness and kindness smile and have a better night than what you gave me I came in happy left out hungry and upset paying for food burnt and disgusting the icing on the cake the charged us 5 dollars for 1.19 pops at meijers

Great service. Our server was honest about the kids food. We originally had ordered pizza for the kids and she explained to us that it wasn’t really that good. So we changed their order and they loved it. The food was great except I will say that I ordered the chile rellonos and the peppers were tough. That’s the only knock I have on the visit. The atmosphere was great

This fajita taco salad is SO good! So well seasoned, and – dare I say – juicy! The chicken is tender! The guys said the burritos were delicious. I’ll be back! Next time? Margaritas!
