Currently sitting in the Eldersburg, MD location on a Sunday, 1:34 pm, Week 18 of the NFL. I come here for 3.5 hours because my favorite teams are not local, and Glory Days is one of the few options to see out of market games. But…
None of the games playing have audio, just the video. There’s not even captions on the TVs so the fan can understand what’s going on. There is low soft rock playing in the background. Most of the employees (yes, they are polite and courteous) seem to have no idea that a sport (in this case football) exists, let alone have any interest in the event….this shows up in how they interact with the customers.
Result: you get NONE of the high energy vibe you’re looking for at a sports event. This is cool for someone who maybe wants to dine in a sports-like, yet low-key ambiance, but is terrible for an actual sports fan.
Glory Days used to have little boxes at the table where you could tune in to your particular game….that’s now gone. Later, they had an app that was terrible, battery draining, and unreliable. Apparently that’s gone too, as no one mentions it here. Now, you just watch a mid-sized screen with no sound.
In the 3.5 hours for a football game, i can easily spend $100-150…if I’m having a good experience. If I brought friends (which I used to do)…that’s potentially thousands in revenue over the course of a season for the chain.
But the current experience is so draining, low key and disconnected, I’d rather just spend $450 a season and stay at home with YouTube, which currently offers a much better experience. That’s exactly what I did this season. I came here today just for a change of pace and comparison…I won’t be back.
Glory Days, please do better, and win one for the Sports Fan.
Edit: I’d love to take you up on your offer but you left no way to get in contact with you.
Burger was cooked unevenly. Ends were almost well while middle was medium rare and otherwise just a bland burger with an overly sweet glaze on the bacon. For the money to me personally not worth it.
