I recently had the pleasure of dining at Don Chentes in Oxnard, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.

Our waitress, Nancy, truly stood out. She was exceptionally courteous and friendly, making us feel right at home. Her positive attitude and attentiveness really enhanced our dining experience! It’s always nice to be served by someone who genuinely cares about their guests.

As for the food, it was pretty good overall, especially considering the prices. However, I thought the dishes could benefit from a little more spice to elevate the flavors. Just a hint more seasoning would take it to the next level! But, honestly, I still enjoyed what I had.

In summary, if you’re looking for a friendly place to grab a meal without breaking the bank, Don Chentes is a solid choice. I’m looking forward to visiting again and trying more of their menu! ️✨

I had a late dinner craving for tacos. I did drive through for 2 tacos Al pastor with a small rice n beans. I got home and it was still warm. Tacos were yummy and the fresh wedge of lemon and red and green salsa were perfect for my tacos. The rice and beans portions were very generous for “small”. I would definitely go back to try other items on the menu. At 8pm, I was worried I’d get icky late food but it was fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back again!

I went here because of the amount of reviews. All of the things on the menu sounded great. I ordered chilaquiles and birria tacos & burrito.
I really thought I was going to be a great place from what I had read, but the only thing that was edible were the eggs which I ate because I was starving, but the chips were already soggy on chilaquiles and I felt sick for days after eating the taco because of such an incredible amount of grease. I hate to post a bad review about such a popular place but I definitely won’t be going back. I felt ill for days. Maybe I’m just not used to eating so much grease. I had one bite of the burrito and there was a ton of meat in it and so I was looking forward to eating the rest, but the grease was just too much.

My family did not like the food. Sorry, looks like they are part of El Pescador family but we did not like it. We ordered menudo (this was the least bad), enchiladas verdes they had more cheese than anything and usually enchiladas have chicken but these had very little. And a huarache al pastor, O don’t think they know what a huarache is it was mostly a tortilla which salsa, meat was scarce. We spent about $75 including horchata and pepino water. I won’t be back there it was kind of the second try and did not like the food again.

First time trying this spot and they even have a drive thru! Uber Eats have a bogo promo on burrito and we got grilled steak, it was humongous and filled with tasty bites! Couple days later we went back and got more steak burritos. And this weekend we decided to try the chicken burritos unfortunately it wasn’t as good – tasted like boiled chicken so we shall stick with the steak burritos!

Found out the buffet is $22/adult.

This is a great taco/Mexican restaurant. They have great tacos, soups, birilla. I ordered the Hawaiian taco with carne asada and was greatly surprised by how good the taco was. I skipped the hot sauce but the party I was with tried all of them and they said they were great as well. Highly recommended for anyone looking for awesome tacos.

Happened to be in the area and decided to try something new. The chilaquiles plate did not disappoint and was enough to feed a small family. Chile was flavorful, chips were still crunchy and rice and beans were top notch. Mazapan iced coffee is a game changer. I want to come back and try everything.
