Look at this.I can’t believe they would serve me chicken like this. I had to wait almost 25 minutes to get my food and they had the nerve to serve me something like this. I am so disappointed the chicken is hard this is not broasted chicken. I’m not sure who is cooking it or what happened but this is absolutely horrible. it tastes horrible. Where is the quality control where are the managers to look at the product going out the door. if this is the level of service and product that you serve. I will never go back I’m very disappointed. I also added a picture here to show what broasted chicken should look like.

Chopped BBQ plate had very tasty BBQ with and without the thick, house BBQ sauce. Neither my wife nor I liked the cole slaw. Nice big onion rings. (I prefer pancake batter-cooked ones however. ) Hush puppies were pretty good. Overall, pretty good. Establishment has won many awards for their food. Been in business since 1949.

Peach Cobbler was AMAZING!!! I got it with ice cream. I got the combination plate (BBQ/Stew) The stew was very thick and not what I grew up (it’s more soup like consistency) Didn’t care for that. Potato salad and baked beans were really good! Their pulled BBQ was AWESOME! Omg, sooo good! It was flavorful and not dried out. I tried their vinegar based bbq sauce, it was good but to be honest the BBQ was already flavorful enough so it didn’t need it but still was really good with it added. Mac and cheese was good too. Hushpuppies were delicious especially dipped in the honey butter! Their sweet tea was perfect. Ten out of ten, would highly recommend!

I went there cuz I was in the barbecue mode. I looked up the barbecue places in the area where I was located this one here came up on the top of the list clicked on it went there to get a takeout. Walked in the building it felt more like a fast food place in a barbecue place couldn’t really smell any barbecue cooking. Make it a point to say that I’m not trying to put them down but the atmosphere just felt like I walked into an old Burger King location. I had ribs potato salad and baked beans. The ribs were okay could have had more of a southern barbecue taste to it but that’s okay everybody has different taste when they figure out they try to make their own barbecue sauce I guess. Potato salad could have used a little more southern style to it missing a lot of ingredients it was a basic yellow mustard potato salad nothing really in it but that. Baked beans were okay got a little ham fat in the sauce is good. All in all I would go there again hopefully they’ll read this and change their potato salad.

The gentleman at the register was very courteous and kind. I am from the Chicagoland area, passing through. The cashier suggested a try their #4 Combo. What a great deal! A total of 6 items for $23 bucks. Whenever you’re in Mebane, NC. Check them out. I give them a 8.5 rating. Prove me wrong… Rio’s Grill On Wheels

I got the platter with a little bit of everything. That was a mistake… please do not call this BBQ. The “pulled” pork and ribs were as close to BBQ as a McRib from McDonald’s. Meat was tender, but zero flavor. No smoke flavor, no nothing. The vinger based sauce was a nightmare, it almost taste like straight vinaigrette salad dressing with ketchup in it.
Chicken was tough and flavorless. Onion rings were decent, but the batter wouldn’t stay on, one bite and all the batter fell off the rest of the onion ring. Coleslaw was okay. The Brunswick Stew was the only saving grace! It was pretty good!
Great service, the young ladies behind the counter were super nice!

Food was very good. I had a barbeque and Brunswick stew dinner. Service was quick. Eating at Hursey’s brings back fond memories from my childhood.

First time at this location. Had an early dinner. Enjoyed several types of bbq. Sides were fresh and tasty. Great place to satisfy a NC bbq craving.

I got the “broasted” (which apparently means pressure-fried) chicken sandwich and a small (8oz) Brunswick stew, plus a chocolate chip cookie for a total of just over $10 after tax. The food came out with no tray or plate, just a wrapped sandwich and Styrofoam cup of soup with plastic spoon (I bought the cookie afterwards). I would describe every item as okay to decent. The chicken was decently cooked, but not crispy and didn’t have much breading. It was under-seasoned, and even after smothering it in their mediocre BBQ sauce I found it lacking flavor (and the sandwich could have used more mayo). The Brunswick stew had plenty of meat, and tasted decent. The cookie was decent. Service was friendly but not enthusiastic. Overall and based on other recent reviews, I am not inspired to go back.

We had excellent food and service. Me and the hubby got the flounder shrimp plates. Slaw, mac and cheese and onion rings were awesome. We will be back!
