I got the classic twist with sprinkles. It is cash only but they must include tax in with their listed prices because I payed exactly what was listed on the board. The young woman working there was very nice and helpful!

Like many reviewers have noted, we had the exact same experience. My dad (who is elderly and deaf in one ear), placed a $10 bill on the counter two pay for two ice creams. The gentleman working there then began to berate him about how rude it was to put money on the counter and that he should’ve put the money in his hand, he told us to google it and we would see that this was rude. We were shocked and taken aback by this, as we are always very polite customers. Really ruined the whole experience..we will not be going back, and do not recommend others to visit.

I stopped by yesterday and an African America guy was there working. He was definitely in a terrible mood. I asked for cherry sundae which I always got when the delightful lady worked there a few years ago. He said “I don’t have cherry” and I know it’s hard to read the sign”! I then asked for small twist cone, he said 5.00! He went to make my cone and was talking to himself, all I heard was “something about customers”. I placed the money on the counter and he slapped the counter 3 times. I asked “what is that all about”? He said “I want the money in my hand”? I asked “Why is that’? He said “Because that’s what I like”. I handed to him in HIS HAND! I will not go back! I went away shaking my head! I will drive across town before I go there ever again!

Came all the way over at 4 pm. It says it’s open until 9. The kid said we’re closing and would not give any reason. There was clearly ice cream in the machine as he was making milk shakes for the customer in front of me. When I asked if he could not do one more cup of ice cream he oddly kept repeating we’re closing to anything I asked. Terrible disrespect from a young man. Do better Chandlers. If your going to close early at least have a valid reason and treat your customers courteously.

My husband stopped by Tuesday afternoon to get a soft serve cone. He carries a money clip and he took a $5 bill out, laid it on the counter and proceeded to clip his money back together before putting it in his pocket. The African-American gentleman who was working that afternoon belligerently indicated that my husband had just insulted him by laying the money on the counter and not placing it in his hand. My husband was shocked and semi speechless, indicating that he had no idea what he was talking about or that he had ever heard such a thing. Even after that, the man was at best hostile. I tried to call Chandler’s but there is no number available that I could find. We have gone there many years and are very upset at the service.

I called to find out if they took credit cards because of a another review. Of course! When I arrived signs were posted everywhere Cash Only! The man was rude. He was his cell phone and told me I called the bakery not the ice cream store. They don’t even have a phone! Besides him not having on gloves after handling his cell and going straight to prepare ice cream I decided to leave. So, no, I can’t tell you about this ODD ice cream shack.

Old school ice cream stand. Classic soft serve and a variety of options. Nothing fancy but always hits the spot. Employees are chill and i haven’t gotten anything wrong yet. Super convenient and cute.

So good ice cream . Portion is huge . There are few picnic tables you can sit and enjoy your ice cream or you can walk to the rivanna river . It’s so worth the price you pay . It’s located in the tractor supply company parking lot . It’s always busy there in the evening.
