Elevated pub fare, including vegan eats, plus craft beer served in a cool hangout with a patio.

The food is amazing! I usually take pictures but me and my colleagues were starving. Every dish was amazing. We had the steak, burgers, truffle fries, salads, and drinks and I was very impressed. The customer service was A grade and the guy was super cool and took care of us. Worth the cold walk we had to take. I’ll be back if I’m in town.

Dang it, I really wanted to be able to leave a great review, but unfortunately, our experience was less than great. First off, our server (India) was sweet and pleasant, but she had her head in the clouds when it came to service. We waited for WAY to long to get our menus, (she brought our water but no menus!) and then waited for over 20 minutes to get a second beer, 10 minutes of that the beer was sitting at the end of the bar waiting to be delivered. I had to remind her 3 times about my beer. Phew! All this and she didn’t even have to deliver food to the tables as the kitchen had food runners. What was she doing?!?!? The food was just okay, my wifes rice bowl was good but my Philly steak sandwich had maybe 3 oz of beef on it if its lucky. It tasted fine but just not much there for $16. Atmosphere wise, the main dining area with the bar looked nice but we were on the “other” side and it seemed a little….forgotten. Will we give it another chance??? maybe…..

This is a cool space, but it didn’t feel like other public houses I’ve been to. Awkward atmosphere.
The food was good. A little overcooked and definitely made to sound more fancy on the menu than it actually is. Example: our cauliflower wings were just steamed cauliflower in sauce.
We were a larger party and it was clear that the food was sitting under a warmer waiting for it all to finish.
The staff was apathetic and sparsely available.
Overall given the quality of the food and service it felt a little overpriced, but it wasn’t bad.

Tried out Saranac Public House for restaurant week. The food was delicious, I would get the pretzels again! The staff was incredibly nice and doing their best with the craziness of the evening. I will definitely be back to try some things off of their regular menu!

Wow. Every dish we had was great. Burger was amazing, fries were battered and crisp, wings were perfect, and the peach and prosciutto flatbread was superb.
Great selection and prices on happy hour menu.
This place is a real gem.

This is a spot I’ve never even considered because the term “public house” has typically meant that the food & drink is out of my price range or too sophisticated for my delicate palate. Someone else chose this place for a co-worker’s going away dinner so I was obliged to attend. Not sorry that I did. The place itself is very nice inside. Overall very quiet for a place its size. The menu offered a decent variety of entrees and appetizers but not too many to be overwhelming. In retrospect, I’m regretting not ordering the pretzel and beer cheese as someone else did at our did–that looked delicious. As for the food we DID order, I’d definitely order again. I had the Mac & cheese with pulled pork the at was a big bowl of cheesy noodles with some nicely cooked and well flavored pork. My wife ordered the grilled meatloaf which was a couple of big slabs of meat presently very nicely with mashed potatoes & gravy. She said the only thing she’d have liked to see is maybe a green veg. Since this was a weeknight, servers were sparse but ours was attentive enough, especially since we were there longer than a typical group would be.

Went here once after bloomsday and loved the food and the service. Went there last night and both my fish and my wife’s chicken were burned black and served to us with no care and no napkin’s . Will not go back for a long time if ever.

Saranac Public House – Spokane, WA
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Saranac. I was dining with someone who has celiac, and we had zero issues finding great gluten-free options. The team did an awesome job.
I ordered the chicken wings with gochujang sauce (not gluten-free), and we shared the steak and potatoes appetizer, Thai chicken flatbread, and mac and cheese. All had gluten-free versions available and were outstanding. The flavors were bold, the portions generous, and the service was top-notch.
Also, happy hour is available all day on Sundays, which was a great bonus.
Great food, plenty of GF options, and excellent service. Highly recommend. We will be back for sure.

This restaurant deserves every word of criticism for its appalling behavior tonight. Watching the bartender publicly humiliate a married couple—who were simply out to celebrate a birthday, a 50th birthday, at that—was nothing short of disgraceful. He insisted on cutting them off for the absurd reason that one of them “used the restroom too much,” which, frankly, sounds more like a bad joke than a policy.
Let’s be clear: this couple did nothing more than enjoy cocktails, appetizers, and entrees, which naturally might involve a couple of trips to the restroom over the course of an evening. Yet the bartender singled them out and ruined what should have been a joyful occasion for reasons that are, at best, baffling, and at worst, tinged with bigotry—especially considering they were a female couple. It’s impossible to ignore the sense of prejudice, whether intentional or not, that tainted the entire incident.
The spectacle left every decent person in the room shocked and uncomfortable. For anyone considering dining here: don’t. No one deserves to spend their money at a place with such a gross display of judgment and a hateful spirit. Shame on this establishment for allowing such behavior—rest assured we will never return after witnessing it.
For what it’s worth, I was able to catch the couple as they left and offer them a glimmer of dignity and decency they were denied inside. They deserve the birthday dinner they tried to have, and someone should see to it they get it—somewhere decent, not here.
Note: The referenced behavior was verified by firsthand observation, and any future response is warranted only by concrete change and accountability from management.

We came to experience the vegan options and we were not disappointed! The portions here are HUGE! I was so excited to see they had truffle fries – we ordered them without Parmesan. The balsamic and parsley was a nice touch. I had the Thai bowl with tofu was so stuffed I couldn’t finish it. My son had the vegan and gluten free Mac n cheese and it was tasty (and also huge) my other son had the yaki soba noodle bowl with tofu and it was good but just slightly salty. He also wasn’t able to finish it. I did advise the kind server that Farro is not gluten free as it is a type of wheat and that it is mislabeled on the menu. There weren’t any vegan desserts, but we were too full anyway. Also boots bakery is right across the street. The atmosphere is definitely that of a pub, but the music was upbeat and fun. We will definitely be back to Saranac!
