Reviews
The dining room itself is beautiful and in line with its name, very regal.
The bunch itself was fantastic which included a welcome mimosa, multiple dishes to share, and individual entree, and desserts.
For our entrees, my wife choose the steak & eggs, while I had the lobster & asparagus crêpes. The steak & eggs were good, and cooked to our preference, medium-rare. The lobster crêpes was fantastic. Delicate and flavourful. I would definitely recommend that if you’re a seafood lover.
Coffee and juice was included as part of the brunch. While it is a bit pricey, if you’re celebrating a special occasion, or treat, it’s worth the splurge.
Service was 5-star as well. Our server was polite, and attentive.
I loved the staff and how attentive they were. They really went out of their way to make sure our visit was enjoyable. I really enjoyed the drinks and thought the tartare de boeuf was excellent. It was my first time trying it and it won’t be my last because it was so flavorful.
I also had the cowboy steak which was excellent with a side of lobster mashed potatoes. The lobster was so buttery and delicious, and the King’s Cake was everything. I actually enjoyed it more than my friends did, which just proves that everyone has different tastes. All in all, we had an amazing dinner and made great memories. The gorgeous atmosphere was the cherry on top.
It was so elegant on the inside and everything was beautiful. I will definitely be back!
The food was outstanding – beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. Every dish felt thoughtful and refined, truly fine dining at its best. The atmosphere was elegant yet warm, making the celebration feel special without being stiff or pretentious.
What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming – the staff made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived and added a personal touch that made the evening unforgettable.
An exceptional restaurant in every sense: cuisine, ambiance, and hospitality all at the highest level. We’ll definitely be coming back, and we highly recommend Louix Louis for any special occasion.
We tried the Squash Velouté and the Beef Tartare for appetizers. Both were wonderful and the tartare was surprisingly filling! I also ordered the cocktail Less Is More, which I really enjoyed.
Entrees were the Black Truffle & Stracciatella Tortellini and the Duck Confit. I feel the appetizers really raised the bar and so the mains were a little less impressive. Good but also not necessarily worth returning for.
For dessert we had the Petite King’s Cake, which is of course a smaller version of the popular King’s Cake. Oh my gosh! I have no idea how anyone eats the regular one, because this cake was so rich and filling. Personally not to my taste but if you like decadent rich chocolate, it’s perfect for you.
The service at the restaurant was wonderful everyone was extremely attentive. The venue itself is gorgeous and makes for wonderful pictures.
Unfortunately we were seated next to an influencer-type who spent her entire time taking pictures, posing, moving around the table light etc and flashing it in our eyes. That was very distracting. Obviously not really a fault of the restaurant but be warned that this may be the kind of customers drawn to LOUIX LOUIS.
We started with cocktails before moving into our three‑course meal. Each dish arrived with perfect timing, giving us the chance to enjoy every course without feeling rushed. From the appetizer to the entrée and dessert, everything was well‑paced and thoughtfully presented.
The cocktails were also excellent, well balanced, creative, and crafted with premium ingredients. It’s definitely worth trying a few if you enjoy high-end mixology.
To finish, the chocolate cake was absolutely delightful: rich, smooth, and perfectly indulgent without being overly sweet. A perfect way to end a wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out or any occasion where you want exceptional food, drinks, and service.
The Duck Confit was the undisputed highlight of the evening. The skin was exceptionally crispy—exactly what you want from a classic French preparation—and the meat was tender and rich. However, the accompanying white bean ragout was a bit polarizing; for those who prefer cleaner or more distinct textures, the beans felt a bit heavy and didn’t quite hit the mark.
Technical Misses: The Foie Gras
Unfortunately, the Foie Gras was a disappointment. Having had this dish at several other fine-dining establishments, the version here fell short. It was overcooked, losing that signature “melt-in-your-mouth” silkiness and becoming a bit too firm. At this price point, you expect the timing to be precise, and this felt like a missed opportunity.
The Sweet Finish
To end the night, we shared the Cheesecake. While the flavor profile was excellent—creamy, balanced, and high-quality—the portion size was surprisingly small. It’s a delicious bite, but it felt a bit underwhelming in scale compared to the grand, “gilded” atmosphere of the restaurant.
Verdict: Go for the duck and the stunning 31st-floor views, but the kitchen may need to tighten up the execution on the more delicate appetizers to truly justify the “Royal” branding.
Great drinks, large dining room with booths and seats nice views, and of course their kings cake is so unique and fun!
