Produce Row Cafe

  4.3 – 1,030 reviews   • American restaurant

Located in the now trendy inner eastside industrial district, Produce Row (aka The Row) has been the pulse of the craft beer movement for over 40 years. Boasting 24 taps and an award winning bourbon collection, Produce Row originally opened in 1953 as a breakfast café for the produce dockworkers. In 1974 the space was converted to a pub and has since been the neighborhood stronghold where people come together. 2008 brought a big remodel yielding The Row an updated interior not to mention one of the best year round patios in the city. NW American cuisine done with style, The Row is a great spot for casual lunch, happy hour and date night alike.

Laid-back, long-standing gastropub with a big patio, pairing beer & whiskey with American eats.

Vibrant flavors that’s worth a visit. The Sweet Po-Taters were an easy salty hit. I enjoyed the creamier dressing on the Kale and Brussels salad, crispy Brussels were a nice touch (think more savory version of crispy onions). The staff was friendly and attentive, nice calming atmosphere as well.

Good drinks, good food. Everything we had was solid and came out quick. Easy place to stop in and enjoy without making it a whole thing.

I looked at the reviews and photos and thought his place would be fantastic! It wasn’t. The place was nearly empty. They brought us lukewarm water. There is a sign that says if your party us only two people to sit yourself, so we did. We sat in the corner and were told to move because someone was coming in to sit there. The hour plus we were there… no one came in and sat there.

The food was average. The Brussels sprouts and kale salad had no Brussels sprouts, just very tough kale with the stems still attached and a few croutons.

The protein bowl was unseasoned and an up charge for pork belly that was clearly just dropped in the fryer. It was also unseasoned, dry and tough. The deviled eggs were fine. The yolks were a little grey (overcooked) definitely wouldn’t eat here again. It was a poorly spent $60.

We had the pleasure of decorating a rehearsal dinner here — and it was such a lovely experience! The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making the whole process easy and enjoyable. The space has a cozy, old-town charm that worked beautifully with our florals. We’d love to come back again someday. Just the sweetest venue and the best team!

I love this space. On a beautiful day, the patio is wonderful to check out. I wasn’t especially hungry for lunch, so I just got an appetizer, which was perfect. I enjoyed the pieces or pork belly mixed in. My cocktail was also good. Both were reasonably priced for what it was. I recommend the food, drinks, and especially the covered patio.

This is the cutest place right on produce row in Portland. They always have great drinks. And their food is outstanding. I love the warm bar atmosphere in the front, but if you want a little bit more open space, you can head to the back patio.

Heads up: the GFO stuff isn’t truly GF – since it’s a shared fryer so there is cross contamination. Our friend who came has celiac and ended up not being able to eat many of the items that were sited as a GFO.

Otherwise the food was really good. Great vibe and the staff was nice. Would def go back.

We hosted our company holiday party at Produce Row Cafe this past weekend, and it was fantastic! The venue was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Our whole team had a wonderful time. Highly recommend Produce Row for any event or night out!

I attended a catered small party. There were about ten people at the party. The party was in the covered patio shared with other restaurant customers.
The server was attentive and friendly.
Plenty of free street parking was available.
The catered light appetizers, were good and plated nicely.
This is a dog friendly restaurant.
