Over the road puertorrican truck drivers craving a little sazón from our island & we definitely found it! We ordered the special lechón with rice & pigeon peas & salad (15/10), the Special pollo guisado with rice & pigeon peas and salad (15/10), fried green plantains or tostones con ajo (20/10), morcilla or blood sausage (100/10), alcapurrias con sabor aplatanáo (15/10), and Malta India & a cola champagne. We had it delivered and it still came quick, food was still piping hot, fresh, tasted like home and the portions are like getting served by your tías & abuelas (THAT much!). Definitely getting our food every time we come back since it is close to the yard!!!! Highly recommended, great puertorrican sazón for us away from home !

I ordered this through Door Dash and it was worth the wait. I lived in Puerto Rico 12 years and by far this is the best food since I left the Island and I’ve have Rican food in NY and NJ. If yall have family in Houston I encourage them to open restaurant there because yall would do good there
Edit to my original post. Im back in Chicago and visited the restaurant this time and placed an order to go and have to say the service was as good as the food its☺️

I’ve been a fan of Jibaritos y Más for many years now. I first went to the original location on Fullerton back in the day, and later to the Lincoln Park spot before it closed — and the food was always consistently great.
The steak jibaritos were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly every time. The habichuelas were rich and comforting, the rice always on point, and the papa rellenos were crispy on the outside and delicious inside. You can really tell the food is made with care and authentic Puerto Rican flavors.
It’s one of those places you remember because it never disappoints. If you’re craving real Puerto Rican food done right, this spot has always delivered for me.

Short wait to order….but food came out fast. Everything was delicious! They definitely do not skimp on the lechon, the jibarito was filled!

This place could do better, but they have lots of orders to go, and take more time to serve tables.
We placed our order, but it took more than 20 minutes to get our food. Worst thing its that our appetizer was delivered after 10 minutes of started eating our food.
We ordered two JIBARITOS, and they were not the best, and they were alright. Portions are big, and place looks clean.
Also we had a hard time to find a parking spot.

Been there a few times, far in between, each time, and everytime their service has been very poor. The cooking time frames vary each visit, but have always been really long wait for food that they should know how to knock out. This location is not there first, and the original location up north in Chicago runs smoothly and the food is consistent. Here at this location their cook times are terrible and the food, for whatever reason isn’t always consistent. The food is decent, I do eat it, but the service is what keeps me from visiting frequently. My most recent visit, I placed an order for pick up, was told 25 minutes, and waited well over an hour. It was absolutely ridiculous. Had I not paid once I got there, I would’ve left to get food elsewhere. As for the atmosphere, seriously it’s cold and blah. There’s one painting on one wall, but the rest of it reads prison inmate visiting room. I’m Puerto Rican and I’m not proud of this location at all. They need to do better, because it’s nice to have our food in the area, but they’re falling off big time. It’s unfortunate.

We ordered for the Superbowl. Horrible nightmare. My guests all got food poisoning. I don’t know how they are allowed to get away with this. The restaurant from other reviews seemed like a good place to order and did not expect such a horrible experience. The food took 2 plus hours to get past the scheduled pick up time. The food was delicious and we had no idea that we would all get sick. Including a child. I’m sorry but they may need better management or the restaurant was not capable of taking such big orders and property store the food.

The fact that this location DOES NOT serve coffee is beyond comprehension… But I guess they make it up with their superb customer service… Alexander who I learned is from the Beautiful country of Nicaragua has the most amazing energy. So sad that they don’t serve coffee .. but all in all a great experience!!

Jibaritos y Más was a super lively and busy spot! The pollo guisado was just a little salty, but once I mixed it with the rice—it hit just right. The empanadas were full of flavor and perfectly crisp. My friend really enjoyed the beef guisado, and the tostones were fantastic—crispy, golden, and so good! And of course, we always love the butter and bread. Definitely a place we’d come back to!
