J. Alexander is perfect for a date night, special occasions or just a nice evening out. The ambiance was pleasant. This place can be considered upscale dinning minus the table cloth and fresh cut flowers. They did have candles on each table. The lighting is dim yet cozy. I ordered the app crab cake and salad. I was surprisingly pleased. The crab cake was filled with chunks of crab meat and less breading. It was perfect! The salad was mixed greens with a basalmic vinegarette dressing. I also ordered the New York strip steak with loaded baked potato. My steak was cooked to perfection, medium (with pink/ warm red center). For my beverage I ordered a glass of sweet tea. My cousin ordered the crab cake entree and J Alexander salad. She was also pleased with her meal. The service was exceptional! The staff helped each other out ensuring customers were serviced promptly.

I ordered takeout from J. Alexander’s and was really impressed! The fish tacos were absolutely out of this world—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The thin fries were another highlight, crispy and addictive. My only complaint was the mac and cheese; it came with onions mixed in, which felt like an odd choice and wasn’t what I was expecting. Overall though, the food was excellent and I’d definitely order again, especially for those fish tacos!

This is absolute perfection! This is heaven! I don’t think many other restaurants in Jacksonville always have prime rib on the menu and so far J. Alexander by far has the best prime rib I’ve ever experienced. Besides the excellent prime rib the service is exceptional and I love the clean modern ambiance. The lighting is perfect, relaxing and romantic.

The martinis were spot on — crisp, cold, and perfectly balanced. The carrot cake was a highlight of the evening, rich and decadent with the perfect amount of frosting. Enjoying it at the bar with an espresso martini made it even better.

Tried this restaurant for the first time. Was not busy and a wonderful experience. Was very intrigued and delighted by The Doppleganger. Be aware that it’s a 15 dollar drink though. The burger was one of the cheaper menu items but was top notch and highly recommended.

Wonderful chain that doesn’t feel like a chain with well crafted flavors and huge portions. Jacks chicken tenders are such a great guilty pleasure along with the super thin and delicious French fries. Fantastic with tons of pepper.

Best prime rib in Jax and it is available every day. The place is due for some updates, but always a great spot to eat. Our family has been visiting this location since it was new. It is exactly the same on the inside minus the rotisserie section, and could use a touch of tasteful updates.
Other than a few cosmetic issues, the staff and kitchen continue to prove they care greatly about the quality of service, food, and drink.
