Used to LOVE this place pre pandemic. It was buzzing with customers, had multiple servers per shift, a solid menu, and an awesome drink list. I have been meaning to come back for years, and honestly, I did not want to write this review, but I feel like it is needed, especially for a spot that clearly needs some improvement.

I ordered the pastitsio, and it was rough. Easily one of the most underwhelming dishes I have ever had. The beef was flavorless, the sauce had no richness or depth, it all just kind of fell flat. The Greek potatoes with lemon garlic oil tasted off, almost rancid, and that instantly killed my appetite. My wife and I both walked away disappointed with our meals.

To the owner, if you are reading this, I am genuinely not trying to tear you down. Your place used to be great, and that is the only reason I am even writing this. But the recipes need serious love, and the management and quality control in the kitchen really need tightening up. This just is not the same restaurant it once was.

On a positive note, I do appreciate the lady who took the dish off my tab, that was classy and the right move. But no drink menu anymore. For a Greek restaurant that used to have a solid one, that is just sad and takes away from the whole experience.

I truly hope this place levels up again, because the potential is there, it just is not showing up on the plate right now.

Wow I was so excited to find this place. I haven’t had a good Greek restaurant since the one in Suwanee Ga. closed. The foodcwas spectacle!! Tge service was great, friendly, and the owner, or manager came to check on us! Oh and the desert far exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be back, and highly recommended!!

I walk by this place for years but it’s always empty. I was invited to dine in here by someone that recently had a great experience here! The restaurant is located inside Sugarloaf Mills Mall by the entrance closes to the parking deck. Upon entering the restaurant the staff greeted us and was kind. There’s a lot of options to choose from. The restaurant seems clean look wise but seating at the table, the leather cover on the table has sticky spots and the plates looked stained. The waitress brought us more plates and it wasn’t a problem. The food was fresh and the ingredients seem to be quality. My family had no issues with the food. Now, the seasoning isn’t where I would like it to be as far as flavor goes. That’s subjective so you have to try it for yourself. The cleanliness of the bathroom wasn’t up to our standards. However, I was pleased by the Health Department 100 “A” rating! I was a little disappointed in our waitress. I do understand multitasking but, it was many times where we had to wait entirely too long for her to return us. I felt it hurt my overall experience here. Also, I don’t like the higher charge for card users vs cash. We weren’t notified about this, I just happened to see it on the bill. However, I would give them another chance. In this rare occasion, I would recommend giving them a try. Maybe this was a one off experience.

This is a great Greek diner! Don’t be fooled, though. They also serve pizza, cheesesteaks, and some unbelievable desserts. Service has been excellent in this family owned and run restaurant. Food is a little pricey but they don’t skimp on the portions. I had plenty of food left to take home. This is a must try! Located in the Sugarloaf Mills Mall.

This was one of my husband’s favorite places that we had visited over the years. We hadn’t been up that way in a bit so we decided to stop in. I have to say I left disappointed. The food just didn’t have the quality that we remembered. My husband ordered the hummus appetizer and the pita was phenomenal. He had Yia Yia’s favorite and he said the chicken in it was good but the beef was inconsistent. The pilaf mix was good with the vegetables in it but he did not like the amount of onions, but the mushrooms were addictive. I had the Greek Combination dinner that featured Moussaka, Pastisio, and Spanikopita. The moussaka was wonderful and had great flavor but the layer of bechanel was unappealing and tasted very bland, and was solid. The spanikopita was lacking in cheese, I could only taste the pastry and spinach. The pastisio was disappointing. I used to love it! But this one had a lack of everything except the giant mound of bechamel cooked solid on top. That layer was the largest and oddly bland. The meat and noodles were almost nonexistent but what I could get was very flavorful. I originally wanted their special nachos but they ran out of the chips for it. If I return it would be solely for the pita and hummus.

This location is under new ownership, so we were disappointed that some of our favorite items were no longer on the menu. We didn’t stay disappointed for long. The staff did so much to try to accommodate our taste buds, and the food was absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely be back!

We have eaten here many times and love the food and atmosphere. But I wanted to post a review because of an exceptionally good experience we had today. We had a birthday party in the back room, and the staff were very attentive and helpful during the reservation process as well as for our event. I highly recommend Athens Kouzzina for holding a group event!
