Well we were skeptical looking at the 2.9 rating, however our love for Chinese food and the lack of Chinese food options here in Gatlinburg – we took a leap of faith.
On one hand the food was extremely delicious, each one of what we ordered was extremely delicious whereas on the other hand, there were few factors which can easily contribute to the low rating here.
Pros:
1. Extremely delicious food
2. Reasonable price
3. Quick service
Cons:
1. Only 2 person taking care of everything
2. 18% gratuity will already be included in the bill if you dine here
3. They prefer cash – if you pay by card, additional 3% charge. That too discover is not accepted here.
We ordered the following item and out total amount including the gratuity was approx $70:
Egg Roll
Crab Rangoon
Fried Chicken & Pork Dumpling
Singapore Pan Fried Noodles
Chicken in Hot Szechuan Sauce

What a fantastic end to Christmas Day!!
My wife called and asked questions regarding a picture in the reviews. He was more then happy to help her figure out which item on the menu it was.
All the food was delicious!
Orange chicken was hot and crispy and the crab rangoon were a perfect touch of sweet

Rude Before We Even Sat Down
We walked in as a large group of 6 adults and 4 kids and were immediately met with an attitude from the gentleman who greeted us. It felt like we were an inconvenience just for showing up.
Before we could even process that, we watched the hostess setting tables by literally throwing menus and silverware onto the tabletops. It was so unprofessional and dismissive. If that’s how they treat the setup, it makes you wonder what goes on in the kitchen.
We decided to quickly check the reviews and saw the 2.9 rating, which confirmed our instant gut feeling. We turned around and walked right out. We didn’t even get to try the food because the customer service was so terrible from the first second. A complete waste of our time and an awful first impression.

I ordered fries, chicken nuggets and shrimp. I can’t call that chicken nuggets and the shrimp was burnt. This is just nasty. No chicken nuggets in the chicken nuggets .

The food was amazing. We had our food within 10 minutes and it was hot and fresh. The lady at the front desk is on a mission okay. I know people have commented on the customer service from her and no she’s not there to have a conversation. She wants to bring you your food and get you on your way. She could tell when we were trying to figure out how to pack things and still be able to walk around more shops. She packed it up for us and brought us any extra containers without us asking. I liked her no nonsense personality. We left warm and with a full bellies, Oh and the bathrooms are so clean! We will definitely be going there next year. Heck we might go there again before we leave this week.

Did takeout tonight, we were so excited for some good Chinese and this place disappointed all the way around. I should have known since they came out with seven dinner orders in 7 minutes. First, we ordered dinners and they came with pints not quarts so we didn’t have enough food for everyone. It did not state this in the menu, otherwise I would have specified quarts. Extremely overpriced for the amount and quality you receive. Let’s talk about quality. The “fried rice” was white rice with some soy sauce drizzled on top. Beef and broccoli was almost inedible. The Lo Mein was pretty tasteless and soggy. Thankfully, we ordered a lot of crab rangoons as those weren’t too bad as well as the egg drop soup. The General Tao chicken was very chewy, obviously had been cooked a long time prior. All in all, we ate it because that was dinner and we were starving. But, for the love of all that is Holy, please spend your hard earned money elsewhere, this place doesn’t deserve to be serving food in such a prime location.

I ordered from this restaurant via Door Dash (they were great by the way) the restaurant however was not…the order was incomplete not as I had ordered and paid for.
The restaurant was not in the least bit helpful in resolving these issues. The food was not of a high quality and lacked taste,the rice was horrible!
I am the concierge at the number one hotel in Gatlinburg and thought that I would give this restaurant another try a previously stated a complete failure.
I do not recommend the North China restaurant in Gatlinburg to anyone especially my guests who are very important to me.
No resolutions were offered,although Door Dash was helpful and understanding.I do highly recommend them.

I don’t know about them negative comments but we went to eat twice in the restaurant to make sure the quality of the food was good and let me tell you the food was awesome I mean it was great and soft and flavor who cares if they dont speak to you much it’s another culture enjoy the difference in food. The owner the lady was so sweet. Thank you guys for good food and service.

Ordered sesame chicken with fried rice , egg drop soup and egg roll , the egg roll was the only thing I ate and finished. For sesame chicken I got a chicken patty worth 5$ and some sesame sauce. My egg drop soup was cold and I had to ask for crisps. I didn’t even get to try to eat my food by this time I was already sick and in the bathroom puking I have never in my life paid 25-30$ for one meal and it all be completely waste of money , I typically don’t ever leave a bad review like this no matter how bad it is but I would definitely not recommend this restaurant or service to anyone based on MY OWN experience. I really wish I had taken photos.

While walking around the popular strip of Gatlingburg, we stumbled upon this place! I didn’t have a chance to look at the google reviews! Wow it is pretty low from the google rating after I was trying to give it a review! But you gotta be aware where you are and if this establishment is catered toward tourists or locals? Well, for a tourist establishment, I went thru the menu and knew exactly what I wanted to order for the family. When we got there the restaurant was slightly empty, however after we received our dishes, all of the sudden the restaurant was packed! The deco of the place feels like a take out restaurant. To be honest, we tried many Asian foods around many places, and it is not that bad! We ordered slice fried fishes with black bean sauce, combination green curry, tomato with beefs and tofu with broccoli and mushrooms. Everything turned out pretty decent for a tourist establishment. We even ordered extra white rice to finish rest of the food. Even though an order of white rice was $3.5 but the owner asked if that was okay with us! $3.5 for white rice is kind of steep but vs the other Thai restaurant, The Baht, charging $5 for 3/4 bowl of white rice, hmmm this place was whole plate of white rice. Our party all liked the fish with black bean sauce dish, it was finished pretty quickly. Check out the pictures, it does not deserve such of low rating! Also this restaurant has been around since 1980s, so think about this, if it is so bad wouldn’t it be out of business already? So I think my theory of great google rating restaurant might or might not always be a hit! But low google rating might not be as bad! So give it a try when you are in Gatlinburg, TN.
