I walked into Joey ‘s Pizzeria without expectations. What I discovered was the best tasting pizza that would rival pizza officienados from our northern states !!! It is delicious.
It was a wonderful unexpected surprise.
The entire experience. The young lady in the picture with the radiant smile took my order .
She almost burst with pride when I asked, “Is your pizza really good?” “Oh yes !!! It really is !!!”, she said. She further informed me her boyfriend makes them and he learned and worked in Pennsylvania. New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey … That area of our country has a certain ‘pizza art culture’ … And he’s sharing its taste in Okeechobee, Florida.
So if you are in the mood for pizzas and are not aware of Joey’s … May I suggest and highly recommend you try Joey’s.

I am done giving this place a chance. Food is always cold or not cooked all the way on the inside. The shredded cheese is hardly ever melted. I ordered a calzone today and once again cold on the inside and cheese not melted ♀️. I shouldn’t have to heat up or microwave my food every time just to have hot food cooked all the way.

Joey’s Pizzeria in Okeechobee is under new ownership, and you can absolutely taste and feel the difference. I hadn’t been here before the transition, but after reading older reviews, I can confidently say—those are no longer relevant. This is a whole new chapter, and it’s off to a fantastic start.
We ordered the pizza and wings special and everything was delicious. The pizza crust was perfectly crisp, the toppings were generous, and the wings were full of flavor and cooked just right. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to be there—which really added to the positive vibe of the place.
The restaurant itself is super clean, well-organized, and welcoming. Prices are more than fair for the quality you get. I’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending Joey’s to others.

Honestly I don’t like to talk down on a local business but this is my honest account of trying this restaurant since it’s new ownership. I didn’t care for Joey’s before so I had high expectations. We came for an early dinner. Restaurant wasn’t busy. Tables were a little dirty including the one we chose to sit at. The remains of something that had been fried were still on the table. Things get pushed aside while wiping I guess. It happens sometimes when you’re in a rush. Server asked us what we wanted to drink. Drinks came out. They were all the same size. Way too big for a child’s drink. Especially a small child (5). I was worried they were going to spill it the whole time we were there. I was charged for a kids beverage when all of the cups were the same size. Made no sense. A smaller cup preferably a styrofoam one with a lid would be more practical for a “child’s bev”. Appetizer of cheese sticks came out. Cool. I ordered a large pizza and lasagna entree. Lasagna comes with a side salad and garlic knots for $14.95. Which I’m alright with if it’s good. Server brought out my salad and garlic knots. So my garlic knots were cold by the time I got my food. I like my bread to be served with my entree. That way it’s still hot. Bread was drowning in Whirl which is not butter! It’s a liquid butter flavored oil substitute for grilling and sauteeing. I’ve cooked with it enough to know the difference (over 30 years in the restaurant and hotel industry). A couple good sized pats of real butter would greatly improve the quality and taste of their bread 100%. Just a dash of salt would elevate it 110%! The pizza crust was dry and hard. Supposed to be hand tossed but I swear it looked like a thin and crispy with some burnt edges. There was hardly any sauce on the pizza. We love pizza and usually eat all of it however we had to get a box. The dogs don’t really care what they eat. My lasagna was the last thing to come out. Although it was piping hot the cheese underneath the melted cheese on top was not melted. All I could taste was meat and cheese. I kept digging around trying to find the pasta. There were maybe 3 paper thin pieces of pasta. Some people like more meat, some like more pasta. I’m on the fence about that. I like an equal amount of meat, cheese and pasta. Very disappointing to eat lasagna that didn’t have adequate pasta in it. It was all cheese and sauce. Probably more sauce than the pizza had on it! They could of served me Stauffer’s lasagna and got a better review. At least you can taste the pasta in it. I still ate it though because I didn’t eat lunch so I felt like I was starving. And for almost $15 I wasn’t going to waste it! We probably won’t go back. Sorry to say I don’t feel like anything changed for the better except there’s more room. I didn’t see or taste any improvement from the original owner’s attempt.

I will say that I think of myself as a pizza connoisseur. I love my pizza. so with that being said, the pizza here is made of fresh dough and it comes out as a thin crust pizza which I absolutely love although they do offer a New York style, also I do need to mention that we had pepperoni, mushrooms and onions on our pizza and the onions are grilled, which is a win-win in my opinion. They have a wide menu from Stromboli‘s to Italian food, sandwiches, burgers, etc. They have three or four huge TVs. The beer is cold. We are new to this area and will check out many other places. Definitely give Joey‘s pizza a try.

A great restaurant in the centre of town. Great selection of food on the menu and very reasonably priced. Service was great and efficient. No WiFi here but why would you want to be playing with your phone with such delicious food. I had the garlic knots for starter (mmmmmmm) and the meatball sub as main. Both were very tasty and very filling. Definitely a restaurant to visit and something on the menu for everyone. Thank you for a great dining experience!

I found a gem here . My family has owned a pizzeria the majority of my life . The second I walked into Joey’s I could smell the yeast in the dough, the sauce and the smell of the stones in the Baker’s pride ovens. As a traveler, I instantaneously knew that I was in the correct place. The staff was excellent getting us in and out as fast as they could while they were slammed. I had mentioned to Levi that I had made pizzas and I was willing to Doc for him and he laughed, we hit it off, real recognizes real . Levi and the staff made my family feel welcome with great food and great service. I have no doubt if you’re driving through they will do the same for you !!! Thanks Levi . We will see you next time we drive through .
