My son and I were looking for a place to eat. We looked at Google Maps to see what was in the area and found this place. The staff was so friendly. Asked about spice levels and offered sauce samples. They took a lot of care in explaining the menu and options. We both love Desi food. This was a twist on Desi food. The wings were fantastic. We ordered falafel? 1/2 chicken and chicken tikka wrap. Everything was amazing. I only wish they had mango lassi. It would’ve put my meal over the top. We don’t live in the area but we are adding this to our Arlington Heights Favs for future trips.

Vasco’s Peri Peri in Arlington Heights, Illinois is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious, flavorful, and healthy meal. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted, which immediately set the tone. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of parking—always a plus.
I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, and they did not disappoint:
Flame Grilled Wings (Medium Heat): Very juicy with the perfect balance of heat and flavor.
Leg & Thigh (Medium Heat): My absolute favorite—tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly.
Chick N Rice: The chicken tenders were good; I just wish the rice had a bit more seasoning.
Garlic Naan: I love their garlic naan. I could eat it every day with their garlic sauce—so good! I just didn’t realize how gigantic the naan was, or I wouldn’t have ordered so much.
Sweet Potato Fries: Well seasoned with a great crinkle cut—loved them.
Corn on the Cob: Sweet and tasty, just how it should be.
Vasconic House Salad: Fresh, crisp vegetables that paired perfectly with the chicken.
Overall, I highly recommend Vasco’s Peri Peri to anyone looking for a quiet, enjoyable dining experience in Arlington Heights. I will definitely be returning for more delicious meals in the future!

We went first time and we were amazed to try the delicious food. Better than chicago Nando’s, but close to the New Zealand Nandos. Chocolate cake was very scrumptious. Highly recommend this place.

I’ve been a regular customer at Vascos and have ordered from them many times. Recently, I left a 1 star review because the food quality was not what it used to be. I decided to give them another chance, thinking it might have just been an off day. Instead of handling feedback professionally, they sent my order with a note telling me not to order from them again because of my review. As a paying customer, I have every right to share my honest experience. Constructive criticism is something businesses should learn from not take personally. This response was immature and unprofessional. If this is how they treat loyal customers who simply give honest feedback, that says a lot about their customer service. Very disappointing.

The chicken rice bowl (price: $13.99) was tasty and came with a free fountain drink during their lunch hour special deal. Also came with four decent sized pieces of grilled chicken and the rice was delicious but small in portion (pictured). We also got the Vasco’s Sizzler Burger (price $11.99) which was bigger than expected and came with two grilled and sauced chicken pieces. Neither of them included a side dish which we were kind of disappointed about bc of how much we paid. We got a side of peri mogo fries (price $5.99) which were very very small in portion for the price (about 12 fries) but tasted alright. We also got the far far (pictured) and ended up paying a total of about $40 for two ppl which isn’t too bad. Overall the place was very clean and the food is pretty decent but too pricey for the portion sizes we received.

The food was very tasty, but I would have liked to have some combo meal options instead of them just being available weekdays for lunch. Also, the steamed vegetables seemed to be from a regular bag of frozen mixed vegetables that were not seasoned, instead of serving something more ethnic to match the cuisine of the restaurant.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant! From the warm welcome to the delicious food, everything was perfect. Each dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with care. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit special. Definitely one of the best dining experiences.

Awesome ’local’, ‘Portuguees’ restaurant. We had chicken and rice which told as most popular menu. Peri fries, Peri mogu, and cowlslo were all so yummy. Chicken was very tender. I would definitely comeback for my son to try lemon or herbs or plain as mild was too spicy for me. (Although my husband and I loved ours ;)) their unique lime soda was very distinctive and delicious. I support local businesses and this place is the gem to do so. No mandatory tip is extra bonus :)) PS. too bad we were too hungry and didn’t take photos.

To say the food and service were amazing is an understatement. The place was impeccably clean and the crew was very pleasant. As first-time customers, they were very patient with us as they went over their menu to help us decide what to get. We ended up having the prime platter with the lemon herb sauce. They will offer you to try their sauces to meet your palate’s preference. The chicken is juicy, soft and the aroma just makes you want to have more. Best of all, the meal was not greasy at all. We will definitely come back again.
