Decent Mexican restaurant, the food came out fairly quick and there was a nice atheistic to the restaurant. Though it did seem a bit overpriced for what it was, basic Mexican food but at a premium price, many of the dishes being $19-$20 per plate and a fountain drink bring almost $5 which is all very high for nothing special. Just lunch for 2 people was over $50 for basic and kind of skimpy portioned Mexican food.

This is one of those places for years we’ve been saying “we need to try that out” every time we go to Missoula. (We’re from Hamilton) Place was clean & nicely decorated. Easy to have a conversation with the table layout and back ground noise. Our server was wonderful and helpful, the food came out super fast, refills came without asking, and helped with the menu.
Most importantly – the food was fabulous! One of those meals you don’t want to stop eating because it tastes so good, but you’re so full and know you should! Highly suggest eating before you go shopping so you can walk it off after. 🙂

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and they did not disappoint! The were prompt to seat us, and were very professional and courteous in serving us. All 6 of our items arrived with minimal delay, fresh, hot and delicious! The atmosphere was comfortable. We will be back!

El Cazador is our go-to Mexican restaurant whenever we’re in Missoula. Over the past five years, they’ve beautifully updated the building inside and out, and the outdoor seating is especially nice on a good weather day.
The staff is attentive and friendly, though we’ve occasionally had orders mixed up, most often the wrong protein in a dish. That said, the food is consistently solid. The fajitas for two are a great option and plenty of food, and the chicken taquitos are our favorite starter. We usually order a combination plate to mix things up; chimichangas, tostadas, enchiladas, chile rellenos and more and they rarely miss the mark.
The rice has changed over time and isn’t quite what it used to be for us, but it’s still a good addition to the meal. Chips and salsa are endless and usually great, though once in a while the chips aren’t quite right or the salsa is either lacking flavor or a bit too spicy.
Drinks are well done, worth the splurge with endless soda and unsweetened tea that are usually kept full. We love it here, always bring family from out of town, and definitely recommend it.

My wife, mother in law, and i went out to dinner. They ordered the fajita plate for 2. They were both so happy for real Mexican food. As they finished almost half the meal and getting full, my mother in law pulls a long black hair from her mouth that was cooked in the meat. My burrito meal was good. Only suggestion I can make for it is sauté the vegetables, and don’t cook the meat so long.

10/10 recommend especially after the remodel. Will be back to make our way through the menu and try the bar next time. Update to add the Beer and Wine offerings. Food continues to be top notch, arrives piping hot! Outdoor seating in the Fall weather

Have you ever drove past and just was a little curious maybe even read a review or two on the place , well we did just that with this wonderful off the beaten path restaurant, this place is definitely what their sign say ; made with love .
My wife and I were welcomed with open arms and a smile that never left his face Ray is the welcome we got, he offered us some of his favorite appetizers suggestions and even told a story well he helped us fulfill our evening, he highly recommended the Nayarit it’s a type of sampler that was perfect the start of our evening which had taquitos nachos beans a quesadilla and even a delicious chicken burrito.
Ray checked on us often enough for us yo know we were not forgotten. As we came closer to our dinner selections, again Ray suggested some of his greats. We just happened to pick a seafood chimichanga and some rancheros tacos both were full of flavor and with a lot on the plates. We finished off with fried ice cream because, Why not!

Everything was great till I got the bill. A service fee of 18% tacked on top of our meal of 5 people. Pretty frustrating if this is a forced tip or some other hidden fee at the end of my meal. Was planning on going back but won’t be now because of the forced 18% being added.
