Visited recently. Great atmosphere inside, with friendly staff, but this was unfortunately our first and last time visiting.
Our appetizer wasn’t hot. Just warm. As if it had been sitting for a little. I ordered a fried alligator po boy, the style with coleslaw on it, and fries for my side. Received my food, which was just warm, and had blackened and grilled, not fried alligator. And fried okra for my side. It took another 10/15 minutes or so just to get my correct side. I mentioned there was no coleslaw like it was supposed to have and was told they ran out and wasn’t know this until my food came. My food was very spicy (blackened alligator) and unfortunately I couldn’t eat more than a few bites, so just decided to ask for a box, which took around 15 minutes to get. As we left the person waiting on us was on their phone playing so I wonder if this is why we had so many issues throughout our dinner. My husband’s food was warm as well, not hot. Ended up spending almost 100 bucks to end up just grabbing Steak N Shake on our way back home. We will not be back.

Picked this place because the name sounded cool. The menu is soul-food-amazing! Lively atmosphere, and looks like a great place for a family party, or birthday party, because there was one going on. Our waitress Mariah was right…the BEST fried green tomatoes anywhere… crispy on the outside, firm on the inside and amazingly spiced.

We met here for a work dinner. Food and service were amazing. I got the chicken and fish platter. On the way out we spoke to the owner, she was amazing also. This place is legit, if you don’t like the food here, you don’t know soul food. They checked all the boxes!!

Met with some great folks down here at Neil St Blues . Pretty big place. Parking was nice. I side is pretty big and lively. We went during the day but by night this place is pretty neat. With live jazz good drinks and the food is amazing really good soul food. Staging was friendly and quick. Really enjoyed myself here. Check this place out when in town

10/10 recommend! I went during lunch and the service was great. We were seated right away and our server was great. My favorite food items was the gumbo hands down! I will be back for more. I ordered the chicken, waffles, and collard greens. The greens were great and not too salty. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, but I like my chicken wings a little burnt. Make sure to ask for your wings well done if you prefer that too. I got the banana pudding to go. It was very good but had too many bananas in the bottom for me. If you like that you will love it. We had no trouble finding parking and the food did not take long to cook. I would love to come when there is music and a more vibrant crowd. The cost was appropriate for the food we got and current prices.

Absolutely 5 stars! Our waitress was so kind and sweet! The food….OMGOODNESS…AMAZING. Fall off the bone ribs, and absolute perfection on the collard greens!!!!! Only a few minor complaints. One of the employees seemed to be overly excited about life as she was extremely loud, almost yelling from the back of the restaurant to where we could hear every word. It was obnoxious and did not fit the vibe. But I appreciate the outgoing spirit for sure! She may not have realized her level of sound! The music choice playing over the speakers was awesome, but seemed a little loud. Overall there atmosphere was good. Food even better. When we visit again we will be back!!!!!

The charbroiled oysters and gumbo were some of the best I’ve ever had and that includes in Nawlins! Recommend the Shrimp and cheese grits too. My dining companions loved the catfish and shrimp poboys also. Our waitress, Meka, was very attentive.
