I recently visited Hamburger El Gordo and ordered a hamburger, fries, and a vegan taco. While the vegan taco didn’t quite meet my expectations and lacked flavor, the hamburger was outstanding, with fresh ingredients and incredible taste. The food arrived warm, and the customer service was excellent—every staff member was friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming, making for an overall great experience. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu next time!

We came her for the birria tacos and consume but the consume was just oil with some onion and cilantro in it. Very tasteless. There was a lot of meat in the birria taco.
The Birria burrito had par cooked rice, it was crunchy/hard.
The chicken sandwich bun fell apart after 1 bite which made it a chicken sandwich salad.
We also got a side of French Fries and they were nasty- soggy, no flavor. I spent about $85 here and will not ever return.

I found the menu to be confusing. (Granted- I speak/understand very little Spanish, but this seemed confusing on top of the language barrier.) The food was just ok to me. My kids didn’t like the hot dogs. I had a burrito with so pastor. The meat was great, but everything else about the burrito was pretty standard or below. The restaurant itself shares a space with two other businesses. It was way too crowded. Six of us sat at a tiny table because there was not a larger one. The pineapple this is from the booth that shares the space.

A second location for this great concept, the same generous portions, excellent food and smiling people. They have a great selection of burgers, tacos, burritos, hot dogos, side dishes, amazing elotes three ways, bottled and hand-made authentic beverages. Burgers are to die for, plentiful, tasty and authentic. Tacos, well, be careful, you will get a lot and it will taste amazing. You’ve been warned! Hand-made beverages are horchata and a refreshing cucumber limeade. I warmly recommend the place, one thing, though, you need to come hungry or you’ll be taking some food home!
One thing they should improve is the treatment of credit card payments. They should eat the surcharge, not add it to the bill. Seeing it on the bill is not a way to go for those who already decided to spend the money at the venue.

Ordered take out, staff was friendly and the food was quick. They have a salsa bar to fill up on a wide variety of salsas to take with your food.

I ordered the Esquite, Asada Fries and a single Carne Asada taco with their spiciest salsa.

The Asada Fries were a LARGE portion, next time I’ll ask for less crema, plenty of asada through out.

Esquite was delicious, great flavor.

Single corn carne asada taco was your expected taco, I ended up with a fattier piece. Would recommend going for a quick lunch.

Amazing food! Best burger I’ve had in a long time. The hot dog was all beef, juicy and great toppings. Greasy great food, that I will definitely come back to eat. Staff was super helpful because we had never been there before.

El Gordo is a great addition to West Saint Paul. I frequented the bbq place that previously was in the space, so I was surprised that it had a new tenant. I had the burger, a tongue taco and a chicken taco. The burger, what they are named after, is the best thing on the menu. The tacos were fine but they weren’t on par with the Gordo. Each time I’ve went back I’ve gotten a few more things and although everything is good, nothing beats the hamburguesas.

First and last time here, this is not mexican food the all! The lady taking our order didn’t know what was going on. We asked for pastor tacos, instead we got soya in the tacos, well if they have soya tacos why they won’t tell you in the front? Then got the food cold very cold! My girls (5 and 7 years old) didn’t eat the food, we finished throwing everything in the garbage, tables were dirty, we used a wipe to cleaned up, personal was rude, I don’t know what part of Mexico this guy claims he is, but this is not Mexican food. I’m from Mexico, my mom just got here to visit us from Mexico and she was discussing for the food, to be honest food doesn’t look like the pics, please if you visit this place make sure if you get your food cold, SAY SOMETHING, I hate to see people taking advantage and claim that the food is good.

They have a great vegan burger! The jalapeno slice is key on here and you can’t even tell it’s not meat, just what I’m looking for! Although I did add my own chipotle mayo type sauce from home so I wish there was one available there to put on it. The fries weren’t my thing but I’m not big on really potato-y fries.
