Reviews
We ordered beef brisket soup, chicken wings, beef innards and beef intestine. Other than being so bland or too salty, almost everything has a large amount of lettuce for salad which overpowers the taste. All the meat are hard and i choked a little like twice to their beef brisket and pork intestine. The noodle is not cooked that it is a little hard and dry, this is their beef brisket noodle soup. Their mango milkshake tastes like an instant or powdered milkshake. Not a fresh one. No free tea like the other chinese restaurants. In the picture i took all the lettuce because it is too overwhelming already. (Oh, i forgot to take lettuce in fried wings) Their condiment is only a soysauce and chili. Just an honest review. I do not recommend this reataurant.
I’ve worked as a server myself and understand that all workers face frustrating and stressful situations. Being a server is hard work and I imagine it’s more challenging when there’s a language barrier. Still, it doesn’t excuse how we were treated.
My husband and I took our business elsewhere and we look forward to checking out better places in Chinatown. Bad energy is a real thing and if it’s in the air and the workers, it’s in the food as well.
so it’s always a great addition to have authentic Chinese food. they’re very affordable and they have a large menu! The only thing that sucks is when they’re busy they’ll turn off their delivery services on Uber eats earlier than usual, but they are open very late. If you walk in they’ll take care of you every time you can dine and take takeout or do delivery. Thank you for all you do for the community. ♥️ follow my page @AggiesAfricanEats
This is crazy. What’s the point of the order if i am going to get something totally different?
The first red flag was the fluorescent lighting. Not normal restaurant lighting. Not cozy. Not warm. The kind of aggressively bright, humming, soul-draining fluorescence that makes everyone look slightly ill and like they haven’t slept in three days. It felt less like a dining room and more like a holding facility.
The waiter approached our table like we owed him money from a past life. My wife asked one normal, harmless question about the menu and he reacted like we had insulted his mother. The waiter then started behaving in a way that can only be described as DEEPLY UNSETTLING. It’s as if this waiter took a random assortment of unmarked pills prior to this interaction. I was genuinely wondering if they were okay or going through a crazy psychosis. It genuinely felt like something was off. Not just “bad service.” Off. The kind of jittery atmosphere where you start questioning what you walked into. The entire interaction felt hard to explain but impossible to ignore.
Would not return.
Would not recommend.
Do Better.
Literally go anywhere else.
The mango Pamalo drink was only ok. I can’t taste any grapefruit in it.
Update Aug 2025
It’s been years since I’ve been back and I’m not quite sure what happened here! Let me start by they stopped serving brunch and opens at 4. Although the dining room was packed the food was definitely lacking taste! Wonton in the noodle soup was a little sour, ordered dishes cooked with jalapeños but was even a tad bit spicy and I would have to say the most disgusting thing I saw was a pan full of raw meats on a stick sitting out in the open on one of the dining tables! It was sitting there before and after my meal so who knows how long it was out for. Took a while for the server to take our order and give us our bill, never came to check on us. The tables are really close to each other and it’s nice that they no longer have the wooden stools for customers to sit on. This is one of the only place that opens until late so it could be the reason why they were so busy after 9, but I think next time I’m in town I’ll try somewhere else.
They have a wide range of offerings, including a lot of the comfortable “Hong Kong” style dishes that most Americans are comfortable with. Their takeout estimates can be way off. My estimate was 15 minutes, but when I showed up, they said it would be another 40 minutes. They were slammed at the time.
