Love local places where the owner has skin in the game.
Great place for some good Mexican food. The place was busy the entire time we were there. The staff was very efficient getting people sat and orders in and food served quickly. There were 3 servers a bus person 2 food runners and a host plus kitchen stall all working together.
Food our dinners were awesome! We had burritos and enchiladas with rice and beans. All were great tasty and fresh and hot, temp not spice. There was hot sauce and salsa and pico available.
We defiantly will be back!

What great food! We were traveling south on 75 and exited off to try this place out. The few extra minutes off the interstate was worth the drive! I had the Street Tacos Carnitas and they were authentic and delicious. Even though the place was packed, we were seated right away and had great service!

I’ve ordered to-go twice. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and both times I was given just chicken (no cheese) thrown in a cold tortilla, not grilled. I don’t usually write bad reviews … but seriously?

Today was the first time we have eaten here, but we were not disappointed! The reviews all said the food was good and possibly the best in Calhoun. I would agree that the food is really good. Though I have never ate Mexican anywhere else in the area, I am sure this cute little place ranks up there with the best of the best!!!!

Love their salsa! We have been going there for over 25 yrs. Very generous portions. Lately, we do take out. If you plan to dine in, ask for Martine he’s an excellent waiter. It does get crowded on Friday nights in the fall but after kickoff time you can get a table quickly. The prices are comparable to other set down casual dining places. You will probably need a ‘to go’ box.

We visited El Pueblo Mexican Grill on Cinco de Mayo and they were serving free shots of tequila! Now that’s customer appreciation!
Of all the Mexican restaurants we have tried in the Dalton area, this one has the best food! We will travel past all the others to go here in Calhoun.
PROS: The prices are reasonable and they have good size portions. The food has great flavor including the beans and rice. The chicken, steak, pork carnitas and shrimp had fantastic flavor and were moist and tender.
Good size bar with lots of drink choices.
Friendly waitstaff.
Needs improvement:
Walls are dirty in the booths.
We had a hard time understanding our waitress with her mask and she wasn’t very attentive.
Chips and salsa – Thin chips are great, salsa is decent.
Taco salad – good
El Monterey – delicious
El Mazatlan – delicious
Will go back.

We returned for dinner with a friend and noticed the walls were clean, their were many waiters and overall the place seemed cleaner. The food was still delicious.

The food was good I got there about 7:45 and sat at the bar which was very tiny. Not a big crowd in there so I was wondering but it was okay. I will have to try it one more time to be sure.

Decent food and the staff are usually on top of everything, even though it gets so busy. I don’t recommend going on Friday or Sunday, because the crowds from the church service letting out and the people about to go to their town’s high school football games can slow service down and make wait times longer.
