We drove over on a Tuesday evening, from Davenport, for their all-you-can-eat chicken tenders. The first plate was piled so high I didn’t even get another plate. In fact, I had to take some home with me. The food is delicious, the waiter very friendly, and the view was breathtaking. The only negative is that we don’t live closer because we would be regulars. But we will still be back!!

Good food, perfect setting overlooking the River. Service was a tad slow. Amazing chicken george, shrimp, cheese curds and decent sirloin. They had half price bottles on Wednesday and picked up this gem of a bottle of bourbon barrel aged wine for less than $30!

My wife’s Chicken fettuccine Alfredo was very good, service was ok, but they had a big party and were very understaffed. My ribeye was supposed to be medium and was well done and was really thin. Definitely not the same ribeye I’ve had before at Candlelight restaurants. Pretty disappointed but the wife’s food was good.

We have been hearing about Candlelight Inn from many of our friends and decided to drive the hour to give it a try. The views on their outdoor patio were the best part. The server’s were attentive. I ordered the steak which was good and cooked how I like. Chicken George was good for fried. Cheese curds were also good. I was expecting to be “wowed” by what all of our friends said of this place. It did not knock my socks off. I guess my expectations may have been set too high. Definitely a place to go if you love fried food with a fabulous outside view.

This was a fun place. It’s on the Mississippi River in Clinton, IA. I imagine this would be a great place to eat outside when nice out.
Service was great and the food was really good too. I probably would make it a 5 star review if they had Malt Vinegar for their all you can eat fish on Fridays.
The cheese curds were great. Some of the best I have had.
My daughter had the sirloin steak and said it was really good. My wife had some fried shrimp and really liked it.
Since they did not have the Malt Vinegar for the fish, I ended up going with the Chicken George and fries. Both were great.
None of had been here before and they will bring you a sample of the Chicken George. We all really liked it but only two of us got it for our meals. They are essentially really good chicken strips/nuggets. They come with a sauce I didn’t personally care for, but others at the table really liked.

It was our first time here and it was excellent! The food was amazing along with the service. The prices were definitely reasonable. I had a jumbo margarita for $8 that was really good. I will definitely be back.

Chicken george is excellent get it everytime. Never had a bad experience staff is always super friendly and food always on par. Nice to have a restaurant where you can sit outside on beautiful days. Clinton doesn’t have many of them. Excellent place to check out. Highly recommend.

Great spot on the river for a nice dinner in a restaurant with professionally dressed wait staff. Service was so-so because of an overcooked ribeye. They did the right thing after a significant delay and deducted my meal. The steak had great flavor and the meal was very good once they were able to get the meat to the correct temperature.
We will be back.
