Tonight I got 2 orders to go. My baked lasagna and a prawn alfredo. Well I only got about half of what I usually get on a dine in order and it was 2 layers of noodles with the same thickness of meat as the noodles and it was SWIMMING in greasy oil and i couldn’t eat more than 4 bites before i started getting naseous from all of grease in it and ON it. The prawn Alfredo had 2 hairs it and didn’t get finished because of it. The standards have really gone downhill here. If I would have rated 3 years ago it would been nothing but positive and 5 stars but it tanked this time. I’m not really sure if i will ever order from them again.
I didn’t see the Wolfe brothers there so this might be why it isn’t good anymore. The only thing that was good was the honey mustard salad dressing and the ranch salad dressing.
Sorry but you need to up your standards.
Another thing that should have told me it might not be good is that there were only about 12 cars in the parking lot on a Saturday night at 6:30pm.
I hate to say it but the sad part is that this takeout was so bad that Stouffers Lasagna for a FAMILY sized tray in foil that you bake at home for 70 minutes for $22 is better than this. You get more, tastes better and you don’t get the grease layer with it. What I paid for these two from Jimmy’s was almost $40 with hair and grease included.
I was also curious about the taste of meatball grinder, but it wasn’t salty. It was good. I recommend tiramisu for dessert. I would like to eat in the restaurant again if I get the chance.
I was however, disappointed with the pasta. It lacked flavor and cheese. I had to utilize whatever seasoning I could from the table to make it edible. The shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. I would not recommend the seafood pasta.
The service wasn’t great. They were somewhat busy, but it took a really long time to get refills, and by the time we were able to flag them down for a beer, our meal was almost done. I would probably not come back for dine in, at night, especially on weekends fri-sat-sun. There’s too many people, and not enough wait staff.
Note:parking lot is strange. It seems to have plenty of parking, but the area is crowded and spots aren’t all the same size.
As other guests have said Jimmys has great food and even better service. The wait staff is efficient and kind. The food portions are large for the price and delicious. The entree salads are generous and filling. Our discerning pasta eaters loved their Alfredo both with and without chicken.
The star of the show is the pizza though. The personal pan pizzas gave the adults at the table feelings of nostalgia. The sauce is perfect, not too sweet or bitter and just the right amount. My son loved the “Detroit style” pepperoni pizza.
We’re east coasters in town for soccer so I can’t say we will be back, but I will say it’s worth the 5 miles off I-5 and recommend it to anyone passing by or through.
