WOW, what a delicious dinner!! I haven’t been here in 5-6+ years, but then I saw a picture of their moriawase sashimi set on their Instagram and immediately scheduled a dinner with my sushi-loving friend here. Initially my friend and I were each going to get our own set ($90 each), but the server recommended we share one set and also get the Ume bowl. Great suggestion! The Ume bowl had at least a dozen pieces of sashimi on top of a bed of amazingly seasoned sushi rice (server specifically pointed that out the rice was seasoned with soy already). Both the Mori set and Ume bowl were delicious, and we were pretty full. The owner came by to check on us and we complimented us on how great everything was. Later he brought us each a tasting portion of their new snow crab & scallop bowls. We also got their matcha creme brûlée, which had a really prominent matcha flavor (many matcha desserts are weakly flavored). I also tried a sip of my friend’s strawberry espresso martini, and I was surprised at how good it was (I’m not an espresso martini girl). I also really enjoyed their late 90s/early 2000s hip hop play list!! I can’t wait to come back for another mori sashimi set!

Hubby took me here for St Valentines day and at the beginning I thought this was not going to be a good idea because we didn’t have reservations and all restaurants were full for the special day. We waited for like 30-40 min hoping some will no show, I am so glad we decided to wait cause it was worth it. I was very impress with the whole experience, from the waiter to the food our time there were whole new vibes.. Waiter was so funny and despite being super busy, he was very attentive and friendly. Now about the food, we ordered so many items and each were SOOOOO DELICIOUS from the beef short ribs & chicken satay Robata to their fabulous sushi, everything was perfect. They have a full bar so we ordered some mezcal drink and a St Valentines special drink waiter recommended and even those drinks were good. This was my first time visiting Yuzu but trust and believe it wont be the last… 1000/10 recommended this great family own restaurant.

Unique Sushi flavors and combinations you can’t get anywhere else. Their smoked fish and fried rolls are so good and each roll is a packed with fresh fish

Yuzu Sushi is an upscale sushi restaurant in West Town, Chicago that serves unique and quirky “sushi art” as part of its fare. I really enjoyed my meal here.
Right off the bat, I will say that the restaurant gets very crowded, very quickly. In my opinion, this restaurant is too small for the amount of business it gets. (But maybe the small cozy vibe is part of the appeal? I’m not sure.)
Overcrowdedness aside, the space itself was clean and well-organized, which I appreciated. The crowd meant we had to wait about 20–30 minutes for a table, but honestly, that wasn’t too bad for a Saturday night.
The appetizers were good and the sushi was fresh, but the flavors were just not there for me. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t blow me away. It’s just good sushi with some nice art pieces on the side (made with various colored condiments and sauces). It’s clear that the sushi arts were designed more for social media than for eating.
Regardless, the food wasn’t bad. The sushi rolls were pretty good (especially for the price), they just weren’t very memorable flavor-wise.
Overall, did I enjoy it? Yes.
Would I come back again? No. I got the cute photos I wanted, but there are other sushi restaurants in Chicago that serve better-tasting sushi rolls with less of a wait.

Hadn’t been here since after pandemic and I have to come more often. The food and drinks are super delicious and their desserts are my favorite because they’re not super sweet. Everyone is super sweet too. Their sushi reminds me of high end restaurants ones, like novikov miami. Neighborhood gem that hope to have for a very long time. Their little art on the tray rolls melts my heart too. One of my favorite places to go to for sure and i go to many.

Everything about this place is great! I tried the Ume bowl and ordered some fatty salmon nigiri and uni nigiri. It was amazing! The bowl came with tuna, salmon, scallop, ikura and the rice was already flavored. DONT PUT soysauce just yet. Try it as the way it comes first. You’ll love it! Great service from Mikey ❤️ and the rest of the staff. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. They also have a variety of interesting cocktails. This place is good for all groups, be it family, friends, or a romantic date. The atmosphere is just right. Will definitely come back!

I love the food here, it’s so delicious and well presented! I’m especially obsessed with the fatty salmon (“Salmon to die for”). And the service is attentive and personal. I’ve done both sit down and pick up, and they treat you like a valued guest either way. I’ve enjoyed a couple of the cocktails too.

Had the most amazing Valentine’s Day dinner at Yuzu Sushi Robata
The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what really made the night special was our server Patrick! He was so attentive, kind, and made our drinks perfectly all night. Truly top-tier service
The hip-hop music playing in the background was the cherry on top — such a fun, lively vibe that made the whole place feel upbeat and welcoming.
Thank you for making our Valentine’s Day dinner so memorable. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

I have no complaints about this restaurant. The food was very good, the servers are attentive without being overbearing and overall it was a great experience. I felt comfortable, enjoyed my meal and felt untrusted. I would definitely recommend them. The sushi is on point!

Great food and drinks and service. Not a fan of the congested seating style of modern small restaurants, but its worth the pain.
