The team was great.. this was our first time visiting and the young lady that sat is was great and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. The only thing was the waitress, at removing the empty plates off of the table(not sure if that’s her job or not) but the table was full of empty plates and we had to remove them ourselves and place them at an empty table close by. Other than having to handle that on our own, everything was nice.

Tonight was the worst dining experience I’ve had anywhere in a long time. We walked in around 5:20. The host was sitting on the bench playing on her phone. She looked up for a second and said you can sit anywhere and went back to scrolling. We sit, the server takes our drink order, drops the drinks and the check off (before we even get our first plate of food). We never see her again. The first trip up to the bar, the food looks old and cold. We get a few items, and they were warm at best. So we go back up and try different items. Same results. We sat over 30 minutes and no one ever came to our table again. Empty glasses, plates of uneaten cold food, the servers were all walking around like they were closing. The owner was at a booth scrolling on his phone. We get up and go to pay, and the same host has her head down laying on the counter. I hand her my check and she just blurts out the total. No how was everything, no thank you, not another word as we walked out the door. The only other person that spoke to us the entire time we were there was the busser, who picked up our plates as we stood up to leave.

Hig’s has always been a family favorite restaurant for me. I’ve been eating here for 20 years, give or take. The buffet is always delicious, home cooked, southern comfort food. Daily on the buffet you’ll get traditional salad fixings, then to hot entrees like meatloaf and catfish with the proper sides such as mashed potatoes and gravy, cooked cabbage, turnip greens, Mac n cheese, white beans, and ho cakes. Last but not least, they offer a wide array of desserts, pies, cobblers, cakes, oh and ice cream. If you like southern comfort food you’ll love it here, if you don’t know whether or not you like it, eat there. Then you’ll know you LOVE it! Oh and they have excellent waitresses, especially Hayley! Shes super friendly and never lets you go without anything you might need!

Went to Higs tonight and enjoyed time out with my Mom and sister. The food was really good and the service was too notch. Haley and Nicholas were there to help assist when needed and smiled and had great attitudes

Food is always hot. They could do better about their selections of food, not everyone cares for fish. I ended up getting fish because the other meat selection wasn’t too appealing. The inside is very dated and could use a makeover, but then the prices would definitely go up.

Hate giving such a childhood restaurant a low review. Unfortunately it’s changed and not for the better. The food seems like they’ve went the prioritizing profits route over quality. The best dish on the buffet is fish alongside it is desert. Our hush puppies were hard and bland. Mash potatoes were instant cheap store bought. Macaroni was bland and had a very off texture. Love how they kept the place all these years, really pulls the country cooking together. Our waitress was nice and kept us looked after.

Things have seriously gone downhill since my first visit here. The chicken today was so dry it could have choked a horse. The catfish was superb and the bar was pretty well stocked but the meat choices messed the whole meal up, even with just about every side you could imagine being available. Plus the condiments on the table are a bit “crusty” which kind of makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.

I had hamburger steak and baked potato, the potato was cold and undone hamburger steak was cold as well , I’ve been here about 3 years ago and wasn’t pleased and decided to give it one more try,I now understand and remember why I don’t eat here.
