My date picked this sushi place as he’s a regular and I really see why. We ordered the sushi platter and 2 special rolls and everything was incredible. There wasn’t much conversation while eating. The server was attentive but not overbearing. My water glass was always full. I loved how much wasbi was each plate too. I didnt even have to ask for extra. I hope we come back soon!

We came in by chance, but it was the best decision we made. It’s one of the best Japanese restaurants we’ve ever been to. Absolutely everything we ordered was delicious. The only thing that disappoints me is that I was just visiting the city and can’t come back. But if I ever return to Philly, I’ll definitely come here again.

I moved to Philadelphia about 3 months ago. I’m working my butt off in 20 degree weather on a rental indego bike delivering food to people until I get the residency requirement to get a city job. Im an an ex Iraq war vet with no criminal record. Im not doing this because I cant get other work. Im doing this to explore the city. With that said I have done thousands of deliveries and 99 percent of restaurants are polite and appreciated of the fact that people like me deliver their food for very little money.

This place is different. They are rude to me. They are condescending. The children of the owner that only are where there because father opened a restaurant treat us poorly. The owner himself has comments on delivery that state that we are not allowed to show them the phone “wierd I know”

He doesn’t seem to understand that alot of the people propping up his business with cheap deliver do so for very little money so alot of them don’t speak English.

These people show you the phone because they don’t speak English and are doing what they can to delivery your food.

This restaurant is full of racist hateful people that are willing to benefit from their work but go out of their way to insult the people helping them.

I’m not going to forget how poorly I was treated by people that didnt need to do that. I picked up the food and the fact that they feel the need to insult mean they are terrible people.

Never in my life did I think i would protest a place but I’ll definitely be outside here telling tourist how terrible the owners are.

Enjoyed overall and the food we had was good. Went like an hour or so before closing and found out with a to go order that if you order less than $15 of stuff you can’t pay with card.

Bubblefish is one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to in Philly. I come here often and usually get the shrimp tempura roll. The prices are reasonable and is a spot to have a quick bite. I also want to appreciate the staff. The staff are kind and attentive. Once again if you have the time and come to Chinatown in Philly, please come and have a meal!

This is my go-to sushi spot near Philly Chinatown. The food is always fresh and flavorful, with reasonable prices. I highly recommend the à la carte oyster and scallop, grilled saba, and Taiwanese salt baked chicken — they’re excellent. The ramen is above average. The uni wasn’t the best I’ve tried, but given the price, it was fair.

Easily the best casual sushi spot in the city. We’ve been here at least 30ish times over the last 7 years and have loved every single visit – the sushi is delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. Plus, the service is always excellent. Please stay here forever, Bubblefish!!

Wonderful mid afternoon meal.
Food was excellent. One of the best Japanese meals I have ever had. Waiters were helpful and attentive. Happy Hour food discounts start at 3 pm. It was just about that time so our waiter suggested that we would save money if we ordered our sushi and soup as a Happy Hour combo special. Many restaurants charge more after lunch hour. Here the prices went down!

Sweet sushi with mango was a new experience for me, which I enjoyed very much.

Mid-afternoon the customers were mostly young. Restaurant looks recently renovated. Unexpectedly large space with a Tatami room in the back.

We had the lychee sake drinks and a bit of sushi. Both were great and the sushi tasted fresh. The staff was friendly. The pricing was a little high but that’s the only issue I’d say. If we are ever in town again I’d go back.

Very reasonable prices for Philly AND it was delicious. Both rolls, Tuna Princess and White Tiger were fat, long and worth $16.95 each. Have paid this same amount for similar rolls but certainly not this big. Yellow tail and Tuna Sashimi were fresh and absolutely lovely pieces (2) for $6.50. Bargain! Shrimp Stir Udon served hot and tasty but tails still on ($15.95) ~ value. Can’t go wrong with Edamame ($5.95). One-touch table lights were a nice addition along with the BYOB and only $5/person cork fee! WIN!
