We have been eating here for many, many years and used to go quite often when we were vegan. We ordered the spring noodle and the Dan Dan (named something else now) and they were always perfect! The spring rolls are some of my favorite I’ve ever had. I also really like the carrot and potato appetizers.

We recently went again for our first time as non-vegans. My husband ordered what he always gets (Dan Dan…can’t remember the new name) and it was great. I got a daily special that came with chicken. I should have gone with a noodle bowl. The chicken was not great. It was cooked fine but tasted like cheap meat. The dumplings were good and the iced Vietnamese tea was amazing. Next time I’ll stick with their vegetarian options because I feel like that’s where they shine.

The food here is unique — definitely not traditional Chinese, but more of an East-meets-West fusion. That said, it was enjoyable in its own way. Just go in knowing it’s not trying to replicate the flavors you’d find in the East, but rather offering its own creative twist on them.

The atmosphere has a laid-back Asheville vibe, with a small, cozy indoor space and a nice outdoor patio. It doesn’t transport you to the streets of China, but instead offers a casual, relaxed dining experience typical of the U.S.

This is my children’s favorite restaurant in Asheville. We’ve been coming here since they were babies! The service is always SUPER friendly and wonderful and the food is ready FAST! Everything’s made to order, so it’s all fresh and hot. It has the best location in Asheville – right in the heart of everything! We love the owner – he’s so cool and easy-going. And an excellent chef! Our favorite dishes here are the sour carrot appetizer, the spinach pancake, and the sizzling platters. I love all the soups, the Hunan Hot Pot and the Pepper Shrimp. YUM!

The Hot Pot was fantastic! I started the meal with the Spinach Pancake. I loved sitting outside across from College Square! I’ve read Look Homeward Angel so it was awesome to be looking at the very spot that much of the book took place, which was his father’s headstone business.

If you are hungry and end enjoy Chinese noodle soups, this is a great place to enjoy soups. The portions are very good, you can create your own level of spicy, and the broth is delicious. I recommend the dumpling soup. The rice dish was also good, but noodle dishes would be my recommendation.

I have no idea why this place has such high ratings. The food was mediocre at best. The service was OK. There are so many little things about this place that I don’t understand. For instance, why is the dipping sauce on a plate and not a bowl? Why does it say spicy when there’s no spice at all? why does it say vermicelli when it’s Ramen noodles? Why do they pour the sauce onto the squid? The dumplings were okay but could use some seasoning. The prices are reasonable. I have no interest in returning.

This was the worst meal I’ve had in 2025. I got the sesame tofu and I was immediately disappointed. It came out suspiciously quick, maybe 3 minutes, the portion was extremely small, it looked and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. The sauce was so sugary like syrup. $14 for what tasted like a microwave meal, but somehow worse. I was so hungry I finished the plate but I gagged every time I thought about it for hours after. My boyfriend got chicken soup and it was okay, the broth was good. The bathrooms in this place are nightmarish. No complaints about the servers though. Will not return and would not recommend.
