We always like to dine in because this place is so chill around 3:00 pm nice and quiet, but playing good music..Hmmm not sure if I heard it this time. Ordered the texas beef brisket egg rolls for the first time with some Korean dipping sauce along with $4 rib tips, $5 St. Louis 2 rib bones and fries with comeback sauce all really good! And for take out ordered the $10 chicken tenders with 2 sides and corn muffin off the lunch menu. Check out their website for happy hour and lunch specials.

I ordered delivery through DoorDash and enjoyed my food for dinner. I had some leftovers which I ate the next day for lunch, and as I was about to take my next bite of my broccoli side, I noticed there was something fuzzy on it. At first, I thought it was possibly mold, but that didn’t make sense as it had been reheated. After further inspection, I realized it was sort of a chrysalis, likely a cabbage looper. So disgusting and disappointing, especially since their food had been tasting good. I wouldn’t take your chances here, as they seem not to wash their vegetables well. It begs the question, what else don’t they wash well…

Free off street good size parking lot. Well established BBQ joint at this same location for decades. Ordered at counter with friendly staff for late lunch – from lunch special menu list. Fairly large selection of BBQ foods on menu. Food is quickly delivered to one of many tables each accommodate maybe 4 people, comfortably. Food is all good (1 order of brisket only and 1 with 3 different meats). All good. Staff bus/clean tables when you finish dining. Pretty good value.

Monday about 1230 wanted Ribs. 1) it was the smallest half rack I have seen in my life. 2) Dry, very chewy, not fall off the bone tender. 3) Beans unfortunately they tasted like over sweetened Campbell’s pork and beans with a little extra meat and love sugar. The fries were the best part of the meal but for $22 that was very expensive fries not the famous Dave I’m used to from the past the last time I made it this place same thing dry chewy ribs. I’m done with this location. The people are very friendly for service so I said five stars for that but food and that’s the main reason you’re there I mean two stars is really generous actually so sad that they have come so far so low without Dave. Oh, I forgot to mention the cornbread ton of sugar there too too sweet to finish I don’t know what happened to those guys.

Update: After posting this review, the restaurant reached out and asked for my contact information. I provided it, expecting some form of resolution or explanation regarding the issues I experienced across two separate Uber Eats orders. Unfortunately, the follow-up amounted to a generic “thank you for the feedback” with no acknowledgment of the concerns raised or any indication that the matter was taken seriously. This response felt dismissive and did not match the level of detail or effort put into sharing my experience
I ordered the Pick Three Extra Meat for delivery on Tuesday, thinking the food would be secured properly like any competent delivery order. Nope. When it arrived, the bag wasn’t secured at all — literally, one tug and the food could have been tampered with. Seriously? That’s just basic food safety.
I called to request they tie the bag so the driver can’t touch it — not because I don’t trust them, but precaution matters. The lady I spoke to wasn’t the best customer service, but I tried to make it simple: “Tie it so I know it can’t be opened, and include sauce and utensils.”
What I got? The bag arrives just as unsecured, and to top it off, the cornbread was torn at the bottom of the bag. It’s obvious someone rushed packing the food, but if they had just tied it properly or stapled the bag, this wouldn’t have happened. I paid for extra meat, and it was a mess by the time it got to me.
I get it — mistakes happen. But this is basic respect for your customers and food safety. I love Famous Dave’s food, but after this experience, I won’t be ordering delivery for a while. Driving there myself isn’t worth it if they can’t even secure a bag for a simple order. Ignorance like this is frustrating.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. Everything was exactly as we ordered and the perfect temperature. We both had St. Louis style ribs with brisket plus baked beans. I had macaroni and cheese for my other side, whereas my husband had steak fries.
The ribs were tender, well sauced, and a plentiful portion. The brisket was really tender and flavorful as well. The baked beans were especially tasty. I love the corn in the mac and cheese, but could live without the Jalapeño (I just pick it out, haha). The fries must’ve been good because my husband ate them all.
It’s a bit pricey, but well worth the cost. If anything, I’ve noticed that it’s slightly more inexpensive compared to similar BBQ eateries in the area.
It wasn’t very busy so there was plenty of seating. It was really clean and any dirty tables were bussed quickly.

I’m pretty sure they are serving old meat here. Ribs have a certain taste if they were cooked days before. They were not fresh and I got sick immediately after. Like someone was twisting my insides like they were wringing out a towel. So uncomfortable. Its a shame because my grandmother loves famous daves and this is the only one we have. But I cant risk her getting sick.

First time eating at a Famous Dave’s. Spouse and I enjoyed the meal (sausage, pull pork and brisket w/ sides). The food came in a more than reasonable time after ordering. The place was clean too (we came the last hour open on a Saturday evening). Tipping though is tough when the bill is paid at the beginning of the meal, so I feel for their waiting staff. Excellent place to eat and if I lived in the area. Thank you for the great experience.

My family and I were visiting in Madison.last week. We didn’t like their customer service because we felt discriminated due to treatment with food we ordered. Lunch special with 3 rib tips one side came with a plate of remicrorave of 10 rib tips in each plate of two lunch special. African American be careful about spending your money in this restaurant. People that work there are not friendly. They look at you a certain way if you are not the right color.

I was looking for a barbecue restaurant in Madison near my hotel downtown. I chose Famous Dave’s where closer to the hotel. It was very emptied when I walked in around 8pm, but a few staff were probably busy with takeaway orders, so I waited for a few mins until I was served to order. Since it was my first time dining at the famous Dave’s, I asked for a recommendation after telling my favourite Barbie was ribs and beef briskets. Then I ordered 2 meat combos with 2 sides and a bottle of beer, sadly they didn’t have any draft beer. I found a table next to the window and it didn’t take long to get my food ready. The lady served the food to my table, well, I thought I needed to bring my food from the counter by myself.
The rib was good, it was tender and moist and sauce was evenly covered on each rib. I think it’s 85/100. But the beef brisket was too dry and I expected at least a bit of marbling and fat. The portion was good though. It is worth revisiting for the rib but definitely not for beef brisket.
