Chinese dim sum (pork buns, shumai & other small plates) served via carts in a banquet-style space.

Arrived there with my family for dim sum, was seated quickly, then completely ignored us. No tea, no water, didn’t asked if we need to order any speciality items. I saw they were busy today so decided to give it a few minutes. Waited about 20 minutes, never brought my group any tea or water, while we already some dim sum from the cart ladies. I brought this to a server’s attention, she told me okay, then never to be seen again with the tea that I requested. At this time, this just completely ruined our mood and told them we wanted to pay and go because they’ve been ignoring us the whole time. I typically tip 20-30%, but I was so furious with their service or better yet, lack of service, I decided to not tip at all. Complained to the waitress, she was apologetic, brought me some to go containers. I paid for my food up front in person, and complained about it again before leaving. Food was mediocre but the service is horrible, for anyone intending to visit this establishment. You’ve been warned!

We had our wedding here on October 25th with 325 people. Our guest loved the food and the ambiance for the most part was good. Some of the chair covering that we paid $500 for were not clean. The real negative came at the end of the night when I told the manager Simon that I wanted to buy my photographers some food to go. They ordered two dishes and the amount was around $60. When I got my bill at the end of the night, Simon charged me $250 for my photographer’s to go order. When I asked him about it, he said they ordered Lobster. When I asked my photographers about the order, they said they absolutely did not order the lobster that he offered it to them. Now, mind you we had 20 guest that we paid for that did not show up to the event. So, there was a lot of extra food and that is what he offered them. They did not order the lobster, they were under the impression he was giving them leftovers from the event. If you are having an event here, watch Simon carefully, he will put you together. #customerexperiencefail

My friend Aidan put us on the salted egg yolk crusted shrimp – TOP TIER MUST GET. Everything else was good but not mind blowing – have had better salted egg yolk buns, shumai, and shrimp dumplings in nyc (Dim Sum Palace is better). Steamed egg dish was a huge portion size, wasn’t a huge fan of the glass noodles at the bottom, but flavor was good. Dinner dim sum didn’t have many options, but their lunch menu is bomb.
Inside is super fancy w/ chandeliers – could be a wedding banquet venue

Late post, Dinners with Dad, unexpected edition, episode 819…in town for a week long workshop but found time to sneak away for dinner with dad…he said he was kind of tired or eating Korean food all the time so asked me to pick something else…so dim sum it was! Originally, we were headed to the spot behind Home Depot on Pleasant Hill but at the last minute he mentioned this place by Costco on Venture so that’s where we went! Parking lot was pretty empty at 6:30 which gave us pause but we were hungry and decided to give it a shot. Tons of staff so we were greeted and treated like royalty! We ordered a sampling of food, some to take home to mom, all of it was hot, fresh and delicious! If you find yourself in the area, give them a shot! If you want to host a banquet, they have a beautiful space for it!

Came in during the the last week of the year on a weekday during dinner and had no complaints while I was hear.
Maybe I dont know what to expect or why but the I did notice that the servers almost seemed to rush us to make our order. Idk why but it seemed that way as they asked us 3-4times.
We just informed them that it was our 1st time there and they worked with us.
But, we order alot of food. Atleast 10 entrees if not more. I was very impressed with their service though. They knew that we had ordered alot of food and got creative and found ways to ensure that all of our food made it to everyones plates and center rotating table.
Everything was made so well that I cant give them a negative review on anything…and we ordered alot. We ordered so much that there should have been room for error but they got it all perfect. That speaks to their excellence.
If I lived in the area, id be here once a month if not every other weekend. Definitely recommend.

Royal China Restaurant offers a pleasant dining atmosphere with attentive and friendly service. Staff members frequently check in, though sometimes encourage ordering more items than necessary. The overall taste of the food is average—certainly not the best in town. Some dishes like Xiao Long Bao and radish cake suffered from being kept warm for too long, losing their freshness. The century egg and pork congee tasted a bit off, possibly due to overly large chunks of century egg or an inadequately handled meat flavor. Nonetheless, it’s still a decent place for a casual meal.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)
Good environment and service, but there’s room for improvement in food freshness.

I recently visited Royal China in Duluth with some friends for a dim sum outing and left feeling quite disappointed. The restaurant itself is large and beautifully decorated, and when we arrived, there were many people waiting for a table. This gave me the impression that the food would be good, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including some of their more exclusive items like Ebi sweet shrimp and shark fin soup, along with several dim sum options. However, the overall quality of the food was below my expectations. The flavors were lacking, and some dishes didn’t taste as fresh as I would have hoped.
Additionally, the service was not up to standard. Given how busy and popular the restaurant seems to be, I expected much better in terms of both food quality and service.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and has great potential, but it fell short in delivering a satisfying dining experience. I would give it 3 stars based on my visit.

Woke up and in the mood for Din Sum, we normally go to East Pearl but wanna try different place. So Royal China it is! First impression, the atmosphere was nice, with decoration and stuff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered our favorite dishes, something we normally order not because we are picky eater but we want to compared to our favorite place. Chicken feet’s, toes, paws, whatever you called it, was ok. I normally would eat the whole plate by myself but I only had 1 and done. The stuffed eggplants was blah, the fried rice was dry like it’s been in the sun for days and tasteless. Other dishes were either lack of flavor or average. Most of the foods were COLD, except the centuries egg porridge and it was the only good dish that we finished. Not sure if we would go back but I rather go to East Pearl and spend my penny on good foods since they both same price range.
