I recently tried PT’s Olde Fashioned Grille in Leland, NC, and while the place itself makes a solid first impression, the food unfortunately did not live up to it.
The restaurant is very nice and clean, with a welcoming, classic diner feel. The service was very quick and attentive, which I definitely appreciated. The staff kept things moving, and the overall experience from an operations standpoint felt smooth.
Ordering is done by filling out a paper slip, which is a little different. It takes a minute to get used to, and personally, I do not think it works better than just giving your order directly.
Now for the burger. It was honestly one of the least flavorful and driest burgers I have ever had. The meat is cooked beyond well done, leaving it dry as cotton, this is probably due to the surrounding old people complaining about a little pink in the middle. It also had virtually no seasoning and just tasted like plain meat, probably again due to the old people not liking any seasoning. Without the ketchup and mustard, it would be hard to get down your throat due to dryness and lack of flavor. The portion size was also on the smaller side, especially considering the price.

You order for yourself by filling out an order form – then you go up to the counter, hand them your form and they give you your beverage. When your order is ready the staff calls out your name and deliver your tasty meal. I got the Old Fashioned Burger. My burger was tasty and I got more fries than I could eat. All of the entrees come with fries and a soft drink [with free refills]. My wife got the 4 oz. P. T. Burger. The service is outstanding!!!

My husband was always bragging about this place and I wanted to find out for myself. I was blown away by the taste of the burger! It was cooked.to perfection and oh that smokey flavor! Went for lunch with my wife. Not what I expected. It was a nice change of pace to go somewhere that was more old fashioned. I wasn’t blown away by the burger, it was good not great. I would like to comeback and try the roast beef. Fries were nice. I would comeback!

I’ll start off with my order. Order: Two Pt burgers; one with extra onions and one with just ketchup. Two drinks; one half&half (half sweet tea and half unsweet). The orders automatically come with fries.
Order came up for $50….
We received one cup of sweet tea and one cup of unsweet??? like ok i guess? and then we received three burgers and two fries. I’m not sure if they are sharing a single brain cell or not.
Also, no extra onions but i did get an extra burger that i didn’t order but probably did pay for.
also felt observed and unwelcome by the other guests while waiting for my incorrect and expensive order.

I got the 8oz with my personal toppings (ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle, jack cheese) by filling out the card to place my order. A little different than the normal to place an order. Got the side salad instead of fries. Better than expected for a burger joint salad . Everything was great . Bottom line is for price and quality it’s the best burger option in Leland. If you are not wanting fast food or to pay 5 guys prices. This is the best choice… even over Als, & hwy 55. To be fair both of those are respectable options as well. I give the edge to PT’s!

I highly recommend this restaurant. I loved the home made fries. I got a BLT.. was the best BLT sandwich I’ve ever had!! It was so good. My girls loved the chicken tenders. Definitely worth the money. The portions were so big. Nice atmosphere. Staff was very friendly and helpful as it was our first time. As my mom was checking out I watched them put a burger together and boy! Did it looks so yummy! If your out in Leland you gotta stop and try this place out. You won’t be disappointed.
Update: we went back and omg soo good. This time i took pictures to show good the food looks and the great portion sizes!

Food is good. The hot dog is different than you might expect. Split in half with cole slaw. Service is very good. Always friendly. TVs to watch sports while you eat. While there isn’t a self service soda station, they will refill your drink.

Visiting for ECNL Soccer showcase and stayed in hotel by this place. Thought it would take forever but wanted to try. Absolutely amazing service, food, and couldn’t believe how quick they got our food out. Everyone says back at our hotel, it was like 5 guys but BETTER and cheaper! The workers were so sweet too!
