This folks is what you get served at Furtune Star in Butler Pa.
Not only did more than one cup have dirt or black specs in the water, but this; this was the cherry on top.
If that wasn’t unsettling enough, we witnessed a worker handle a dumpling that had fallen on the serving counter,
“wash it” in the container of corn next to it and toss it back in with the rest of the dumplings.
But wait there’s more… in the mood for sushi, well you won’t be now. I walk up to the bar of sushi looking for a basic sushi roll, but to my surprise… oh look a hair across the first line of sushi. That’s a rookie level mistake.
Not that I’m the biggest fan of Chinese food, but I surely will not be back.
Update: The workers did not care at all. The manager on duty said the ice gets cleaned by a hired company every 3 months and just got cleaned recently.

This was my first time going there and I definitely will be going back. Absolutely loved all the choices there were on the buffet. I was there for dinner so I also have the option of hibachi and sushi. The buffet was well stocked. There was a salad bar, fruit, soup, and a dessert bar as well as all the food choices. We had a great time and plan to go back again soon.

The beef Lo Mein was Absolutely Horrible -the meat fatty, tasteless and unedible in huge, thick pieces. The only saving grace were the noodles. Also got Sesame chicken with fried rice, some pieces very chewy and tough. It was close to closing time but I won’t be going back anytime soon.

This is our 2nd time to this restaurant. We love it! A nice amount of hot and cold foods, sushi, fruit and desserts.
Fresh sushi and hibachi served for those who like it prepared at the time.
American favorite food offered as well so the kiddies are happy!
Ice cream cups sets it apart. The sugared peanuts are one of my fave desserts to munch on!
Foods are refilled constantly so everything is kept up with. Casual feel to the restaurant.
Would definitely return for a 3rd time and recommend to others!

Good place to eat. There are better times to go. Lunch ends and dinner starts at 4 pm so don’t arrive at 3:30. The buffet will not be stocked with fresh, hot food. My one complaint is the beverages are not good. I think it’s the ice they use. The soft drinks have a bad taste and smell. They need to check their water quality and make sure the ice is new and fresh every day.

It takes them forever to come and give you a refill and they just top you off so it taste weird with cold soda on flat soda they stand there and watch the dining room the whole time and it still takes them a while to get your beverage refilled there isn’t much outside of chicken and seafood to choose from and if your don’t want peppers and onions you only get white rice which was cold to touch I made my son a plate white rice and a piece of pizza and a piece of garlic bread by the time I sat down I didn’t have to blow on his food for him to eat could definitely be hotter people told us this place was great won’t go back their desserts are good I give them a 4.5 on dessert it’s only buffet style which is fine

Great food, great price, nice atmosphere. Definitely one of the best china buffets I have had the pleasure of enjoying. The staff kept up with refills and clearing plates, the only critique I can offer is the staff doesn’t seem very friendly. They’re doing great at their job, but look annoyed most of the time.

I live an hour away but I will always stop here to eat when I’m in the area. I’ve stopped here for lunch at least a half dozen times and it is excellent every time!! The “american” food I’ve tried there is pn the bland side but the Asian inspired food is top notch for buffet style food!!

Used to offer a variety of foods that were both sweet or savory or umami now everything with corn syrup even things that are suppose to be savory. Sushi variety has declined as well. Hot and sour soup bland and too much corn starch. Quality continues to decline. It’s sad as they were one of the only places around that truly offered a variety of flavors.

Today we have decided to repeat in this wonderful place now in the company of our little daughter. The food did not disappoint us, it was excellent once again, if I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

The food is excellent, you have a great variety of Chinese food, American and even salads. You can repeat the times you want and for two people my receipt was for 17$.
I recommend the rolls of leafy stuffed with cream cheese, they are a delight, you will enjoy them a lot. Very friendly and respectful attention.
