I’m anxious to return here. The chili rellenos were superb, and prices LOW!
We ordered a taquitos meal filled with beef served with rice and beans. And also grilled shrimp with tortillas and toppings and rice and beans.
They have 2 restaurants in Taos and would eat there again.
And the 1/2 Tacos de Barbacoa and an additional salad in the side. They were both amazing. Paid 46$ total and it was worth every cent. This place came up several times from the locals. They had a steady flow of traffic on a Wed at 5:00 pm. Hit this place up, it will not let you down.
We ordered what looked the most vegan and vegetarian: one vegetarian enchilada platter (no rice b/c of chicken stock, no sauce on the enchilada b/c it was a meat based sauce and no cheese for keeping it vegan) AND one vegetarian burrito.
Good stuff:
Freshly cooked veggies in my enchilada.
Not so good:
1. Except for beans, the enchilada platter was very little by way of portion size.
2. No vegetarian enchilada sauce.
3. No substitutions for the rice with Guacamole
4. No salsa or any garnish. I don’t know if anything fresca is a no-no in authentic Mexican cuisine.
5. The veggie burrito was a joke. Tiny
6. Beers are about $6 / bottle.
I don’t recommend this place for either vegetarians or vegans. It may be okay for meat eaters. We are not.
Too damn expensive for the little food you get. Go to Taco Bell or Subway if you’re vegan/vegetarian, pressed for time, you’re hungry and it’s a Sunday – most other establishments offering vegetarian/vegan fare are closed.
The atmosphere was pretty cool. It was weird place an order at the counter like a fast food. After doing so, they brought the food out to my table.
I had the enchilada plate. The food was really good. I was just surprised at the small portions I got considering the high price I paid. They don’t even offer free refills.
This place was OK for a first time. But I will not go out of my way to go there again..
