After visiting several Mellow Mushroom locations, I have to say this one is pretty muted. The restaurant is clean and service was good. The food was not on par with other locations(Durham, Boone) but was not awful just ok. The other locations are very colorful and decorated and made the Brier Creek location look like a regular restaurant.

I use to frequent this location often before we moved out of the country.
This is the first time I have been back since we returned to US.
I decided to bring my grand children here for lunch with family.
1. When we walked in, no one greeted us. There was no Host at front desk. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was relatively empty.
2. When the Host did seat us. He was apologetic for the delay. However, he then proceeded to seat us at a dirty table. I asked him to wipe the table & chairs down. He did but I had to do it again myself.
3. Our WAITRESS WAS AMAZING!!!!! I wish I could remember her name. But she was a light skinned young lady with curly hair, neck/shoulder length and glasses.
4. Our food came out promptly & hot.
5. However, my 4 year old grand son took a bit out of a side of apples we had ordered.
Upon, closer observation, we saw that the Apples were BROWN, MOLDED AT THE SEED and NOT FRESH.
We brought it to the Manager, ZACK’s attention. He took no accountability. He didn’t apologized. He made EXCUSES. He was dismissive and unbothered. He actually acted like he was more frustrated with us for complaining.
Zack then rushed to remove molded apples from the table. I told him I wanted to take pictures of the apples first. Because I am an International Food Guide, I wanted pictures and a video of this experience.
He kept waking over and grabbing the apples of the table as I was doing this. And he kept saying “ Did you take a picture, yet?
I told him yes, BUT I WASN’T FINISHED. And instead of him allowing me to finish, he HOVERED over me like I was a CHILD, and like I owed him an EXPLANATION for what I was doing. He tried to use his size and voice tone to intimidate me.
I’m a grown retired Psychologist of over 20 years and here this man is talking to me like I’m a juvenile. Zack is the same age range as my own children and he HAD NO RESPECT.
Then after I told him I wasn’t finished. HE CLEARLY HEARD ME AND MADE EYE CONTACT AND THEN GRABBED THE APPLES OFF THE TABLE AND WALKED QUICKLY TO THE KITCHEN.
I confronted him for taking the apples away while I was taking pictures on my camera and trying to do video. He then got indignant, argumentative, his voice level escalated. Other team member had to come over to calm him down.
It was very unprofessional and just a bad look for a place I once loved.
We did not stay to eat our food as I refuse to patronize a business that clearly has no respect for me as a customer or my 4 Grandchildren who were hungry. Not to mention my daughters who were at the table as well with me.
I will NEVER be back.
****Look at the pictures attached. Would you let your child eat those apples.

Amazing service and atmosphere. My friend from out of town absolutely loved it. I love thin crust but it wasn’t too thin. My friend loves her crust fluffier side so it was exactly what she was looking for.

Order food for pickup and they gave me a cheese pizza instead of a pepperoni. No big deal, I wait for the fixed pizza. I finally get home and start eating only to find there’s paper cooked into the dough on the bottom of the pizza crust. I fed it to my kids. What kind of quality control?!

The food was great! We had some delicious pizza and a good calzone. The restaurant is clean and tidy.
However the service left much to be desired. I ordered a lemonade and waited about 40 minutes for it. The restaurant was also fairly empty as it was a Monday night, so not sure what the hold up was for a single drink.
In the meantime, the waitress didn’t come to our table so I wasn’t even able to ask for a water. Just a little disappointing that the waitstaff didn’t have the awareness to see a guest that didn’t have a drink for a long time.
Overall the experience was good, but based on the slow service and the waitstaff who don’t make sure you at least have a water, I wouldn’t come back to this particular location.

Hi! When i came in here i was greeted well by the host which lightened my mood! When i was sat i didn’t have to wait for long till i was greeted by my server i wish i could remember her name but she treated us well and we felt welcomed! Overall the food and the mood around the restaurant made us feel warm and welcome! We were even asked how our food was by a manager! I think her name was AJ she treated us well. The cooks were on too of it and we got our food fast. Thank you mellow mushroom for the experience!

Had such a great experience this evening! We don’t remember our server’s name, but she looks just like Tate McRae. She was super friendly and made the experience feel really personal and fun. Amazing service, great energy, and she really went above and beyond.

The food was good, but this service was amazing! Darius was my server today and what a pleasure it was to meet him! He was so friendly and positive… Knowledgeable about the menu and completely attentive as I had him running back-and-forth from the kitchen more than once. Never a complaint, just a big smile on his face. I really appreciated his positivity and upbeat attitude! The cheesesteak was good, the spinach salad was great, but Darius offered an outstanding dining experience! I’ll be back!

Our server was nice but the food was TERRIBLE. We ordered a thin, crispy pizza that was so overly sauced it was soggy. I asked that the chicken wings be cooked extra done and they were not- they were very slimy. And it wasn’t busy at all so you can not blame the outcome because of too many patrons. The only good thing I can add is that the water was good.
