Definitely a good option for what’s around the South Bay.
Otdered the El Jefe and the Jefecito with everything…. was pretty good.
Big portions (pictures provided). They don’t skimp on the meat either so that’s a plus ➕!
Tacos were also good. Wasn’t in love but hard to come by when so many Mexican restaurants and taquerias are located in the bay area.
Carnitas meat was a way go-to!!!!
Service was exceptional, had no issues with ordering and was greeted with a friendly face
Love that they serve beer here and enjoyed the horchata
Will try the burrito next time.
Would recommend but not saying it’s the best tacos I’ve had unfortunately.
Most of the people are waiting for takeout.
I ordered the super taco with steak $5.50. It was very delicious with avocado on top. It went well with Mexican Coke.
Super burrito actually just adds avocado, not too much meat. I probably won’t order it again next time, because you can eat this kind of burrito everywhere.
When we arrived around noon, there was already a long line + people sitting in the small, limited spaces available. When we got to the front, the person let us know that it was gonna be an hour wait. Well… we were already here, very hungry but also wanted to try this place, so we will wait.
Luckily they gave us our drinks. I went with the strawberry fresca which was delicious and had a good amount of strawberry flavor! My friend ordered the horchata, which he said was probably the second best horchata he has ever had (the best was down in San Diego, so for something close in proximity, I will gladly come here). But by all means, very good!
Finally, around 45 minutes later, our orders arrived!
My friend saw on the menu that the carnitas were “deep fried”, so he immediately got giddy and excited. He said that all other “carnitas” in other restaurants usually aren’t fried (not traditional) so they usually fall flat.
So we both ordered carnitas tacos, and boy that was delicious! Soft and juicy, with some fried bits you can taste and feel on the sides. ONE AWESOME THING TO NOTE: my friend says the tortillas are most likely HOMEMADE since they didn’t come in perfect circles or shaped perfectly. There is evidence of imperfect cuts and shaping. Regardless, the tortilla was soo good!
Next up were the tortas. I had carne asada with mine and man! First bite tasted like a hamburger to me, which I love and do not mind at all! Not to mention that this is a huge chonker (not as big as Mexico Bakery down at Story Rd, but still a darn good size!). I think Mexico Bakery is larger, but I prefer the ingredients and seasonings used here!
They also provided a red sauce and green sauce, which the red sauce was spicy and good, while the green sauce was savory. I personally like it without the sauce since the meat marinade and ingredients used are delicious on its own, that any sauce added would overpower the flavor they put in. But if I had to choose, I actually like the green sauce more.
Overall, 5/5. I love this place. This is going to be a tough place to beat for tortas. I would definitely try the other menu items next time! Pro-tip: just come when they open to beat the lines.
Went to this taqueria on a whim. They had really good reviews, so we took a detour before heading back up to Santa Clara.
I got the Nacho fries with carne asada and 2 tacos with al pastor and carnitas. My spouse got 2 of the hot cheetos taco with al pastor and chorizo). He also got the chicken taquitos.
Their asada was great flavorful and not dry! The fries they use (skinny fries) work well with the toppings in the nachos. We LOVED the al pastor! It wasn’t pineapple forward like most al pastor out there, so we enjoyed it. The carnitas weren’t the best that we’ve had, but at least it wasn’t dry. We also enjoyed the hot cheetos tortilla surprisingly.
My spouse liked the taquitos, but I thought they were on the dryer side. It really needed the salsa. Speaking of salsa, their roasted and green salsa were the better ones we’ve had, too.
Don’t pass on the aguas frescas either! I would go back just to try all of them.
Overall, this is a very solid taqueria.
and it was $50 for nacho fries and a quesadilla. FIFTY DOLLARS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.
Just please avoid this place, you can’t even eat inside there’s 4 90’s taco bell style tables and chairs in a narrow 8ft hallway they call a dining area.
