With olive oil for dipping was good, salad was good. Portions are very plentiful.
Only we encountered was at the end of the evening a lot of the staff were ending their day, instead of leaving, they gathered and talked and talked and socialized within ear shot, distracting from the lovely atmosphere and our ability to enjoy our quiet moments. The night manager was very open to our thoughts on this.
Gave us a beautiful and delicious brownie
Highly recommend this restaurant.
What an incredible place that has serious love made into the food. This definitely going to be my new favorite place and we are going to start a love affair of food.
We tried to eat here and it was a seventy five minute wait so we left. This time we planned better and came at 5 PM. We were seated in a cozy corner booth and the atmosphere was perfect and the smells were amazing.
We started with a bottle of wine. A Malbec from Argentina. It’s always been good with Italian food so we stuck with it. It didn’t disappoint.
The bread was good, but I was here for the food. The menu is solid and I was having a hard time deciding because everything looked good.
I went with the Ziti Cucina Pasta Special. Wow, the flavors happening here are so incredible and intense. The flavor of the zesty tomato sauce made my tastebuds dance. The pasta was perfectly cooked with the spicy Graziano Sausage and sun dried tomatoes in zesty tomato sauce was incredibly delicious. The perfect amount of spice. Adding the meatballs with the Diana on Top just added another level of amazing flavors. I feel like I needed more of the Diana Sauce. The complex flavors complemented the meatballs well. I was in flavor heaven.
Well if it can’t get any better, it does. The owner sends out a small dish of deliciousness. What restaurant does this? This place is incredible and I am addicted now.
That little dish was Bowtie Philly Cheese Steak. I don’t know what all meat was in this but it was incredible. This was made from serious love and someone who takes pride in cooking and what they serve. The peppers were cooked to perfection. Not Mushy, Not Raw, but with the perfect crisp texture. The colors of the peppers with the sliced sausage, Farfalle pasta, and onions were brilliant in the creamy cheddar sauce. Fresh peppers and onions were a complement of perfect flavors. I want to come back and get this just with the beef filet tips.
I couldn’t decide which one to eat because they were just incredible. I was an apprentice chef and I can taste and see the love and time that went into preparing this food. It was not rushed, but perfected with effort and care. What other incredible things could come out of the kitchen? Dessert.
I couldn’t decide which one and based on my experience so far I went with three and they were all amazing and delicious.
The Cheesecake, The Hot Apple Cake, and of course, Crème Brûlée.
They were all so incredibly with a little fresh fruit that added nice color. The Crème Brûlée was my favorite. Just so much perfection to end the night.
The service was perfect and everyone was welcoming and friendly.
I must go back to get the Beef Tenderloin Filet with Gorgonzola. If it comes out like this amazing stuff this will be an incredible love affair of food, because my tastebuds were seriously molested by all incredible flavors in this food. I left with leftovers and after the show I had a couple bites to see if maybe I was dreaming, but no this food is amazing.
The ambiance was great…beautiful, quiet, dimly lit, with a rose and candle on our table. We ordered pizza and pasta, and all of the food was phenomenal! The Ziti Cucina was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had, and the pizzas were incredible.
Then they brought us a dish of Bowtie Philly Cheese Steak to say sorry for the wait. But the wait had not been unreasonable in the least, especially because we had shown up late on a Saturday night. Yet they could tell it had been a long day for all of us and they just wanted us to have a great experience (which we were).
As we were leaving the restaurant to start a long drive home to a different state, they handed us a dessert to tell us thanks for coming. And the dessert was amazing.
We were all blown away at how beautiful, delicious, kind, and gracious everyone was. Can’t wait to go back next time we’re in Des Moines!
