Wow amazing experience. So my love and I travel for work 2 to 3 times weekly and we love to try new restaurant around the country. This place sets the standard. The food, service and ambiance was fantastic. The milk bread was to die for. We had the Brassiacas appetizer, tagliatelle and the smoked duck gumbo. To finish it up we had the milkbread pudding and milk bread cinnamon roll. We now understand why they are Michelin Rated.

Update: We went back the next night with 2 friends and again for brunch. Yes, 3 days in a row. Morgan and Scott rolled out the red carpet and made our friends feel special the 2nd night. Brandy (Brandi), Ellis, and Kenny all killed it with fun and well seasoned service. Great people, great food, great setting. Love the alley way dining area. I hope their restaurant culture lives on for years to come. Owners can think up whatever they want, but the people in it are the ones bringing the vision to life.
Truly outstanding experience. Johanna, Kenny, Scott, and everyone (front of house, bartender, chefs) went out of their way to welcome us to their town. They are a poster child of “unreasonable hospitality”. Very friendly, helpful, and willing to accomodate our requests. My wife gets nauseous with honey – no problem, they’ll highlight the dishes that don’t use honey. We don’t like a lot of alcohol, but like mixed drinks – great, the bartender will go easy. Too full for dessert after the entrees, but still want it – sounds good, we will let you relax and send dessert up later. Great conversations – it feels like old school hospitality. You can’t ask for more.
Their food felt fresh in ingredients and creativity. There is clearly thoughtful composition and artful execution. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors, textures, and presentation. Truly worth the prices – they are not boiling a bag of frozen sauce and dump it on dried pasta. We have been to Michelin star restaurants and frankly the food is better here.
Ambiance was nice with a hip vibe. They kept the brick / smaller town look, but the elevated with current decor. Music was curated and it shows. Beautiful outdoor and indoor seating. 10/10. Wish we have this restaurant where we live.

My husband and I went last night for our wedding anniversary and they are spectacular! Our waitress, Elyse, is the sweetest and helpful person. She and the hostess took account on my food allergy and accommodated me accordingly. The food was delicious! I loved the milk bread and the Duck Fat Potatoes as our apps, and they gave us complimentary house made pickles that really compliments the duck fat potatoes and balanced out the cocktails. The cocktails were really good. I got the espresso cocktail and my husband had the kindred spirits that was really to our liking. The rigatoni was so good and fulfilling and the bone in pork chop was basically Thanksgiving on a plate. The dessert was really the icing on the cake with the milk bread bread pudding. Everything was amazing and will definitely come back for another occasion. Thank yall so much for making our anniversary date night really special.

wow. i’m not sure if i’ve ever had a dish as perfectly created as the wagyu beef tartare. each bite was perfect as the acidic lemon rivaled the crispiness of the small sunchoke chips. the duck fat potatoes were well seasoned, and the crab mayonnaise that went along with them was . the rigatoni was one of my favorites. its wagyu beef fell apart in my mouth along with the very soft noodles and peppers. the bone-in-pork arista was one of my least favorite of the night. I enjoyed the peas it came over, but the actual meat was a little tougher than i was expecting. the fried chicken was good, and you could tell they had just made the crust. not pictured is the pull-apart bread given at the beginning. wow, that was good. it’s a nice salty piece and you can add sweet butter to it. i can see why people would enjoy the dim lighting but that was my main critique of the actual place as it made the lights outside a little blinding. there’s a high chance you need to make a reservation in advance if you’d like to dine here.

Definitely good milk bread. The past reviews didn’t lie. Came for Valentines. Was expecting a bit more romance for the space and cost. Sat upstairs and unfortunately there is a street light shining right in your face if facing the street. Service was excellent though. Our waitress had great suggestions and wine pairing.

We had an incredible experience at Kindred on Friday night. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, but we were perfectly happy enjoying the lively atmosphere at the bar. To our surprise (and delight) Kindred brought over a variety of appetizers for us to enjoy while we waited – such a thoughtful touch and great start to the evening.
Once seated, we were lucky enough to have Christine as our server. She was personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a wonderful time. Her energy and care elevated the entire experience.
It’s rare to find a place that nails both exceptional food and exceptional service, but Kindred does exactly that. From start to finish, everything felt intentional, warm, and delicious. We’ll absolutely be back.

Atmosphere was hip & modern. Sat at the bar and the bartender was very accommodating. Everyone online recommended the squid ink pasta but I found it underwhelming. The beef tartar was good! My mocktail was the best part – amaro.

Best restaurant in the Lake Norman area, if not the entire Charlotte metro. Amazing cocktails, dynamite dishes, and an all-around great atmosphere. They serve small plate style, and the plate sizes are good to share for a couple of people. The fried oysters were my favorite dish–a must try while there. The cocktails were the highlight–all were amazing and worth the price.
Listen, this is not a cheap meal, but well worth the price paid for a great meal in a vibrant setting. The staff were friendly and good at making food and drink recommendations.
There is seating indoor and out; try stopping in for a cocktail at the bar as well. Davidson is lucky to have this restaurant on Main Street.

Stop searching for a restaurant because now you found Kindred. Go and you won’t regret it. I live in San Francisco and this place would easily hang with all the best restaurants there. So tasty, everything is elevated with great ingredients and creative combinations, the cocktails are A+, and the wine list super well curated too. Coming here was a highlight of my visit to Davidson. 10 out of 5 stars—THANK YOU!! P.S. if you like bread pudding, don’t skip it!!

Ambiance was great and food was excellent! Ellis was a great waiter and made sure we were informed and had a wonderful time for our first visit. It was my birthday and we added that to the reservation. Cons is I wish we had a better spot in the restaurant. We were seated at the top of the stairs by the bathrooms and for the occasion it was not the most desired spot. Also we did order the cheese and salumi board to start which I was very excited for and it was forgotten to put it. They were very nice about it and offered to put it in but we just got our main meals and didn’t want to bother at that point. We had a comped cinnamon roll for the mistake
