In Minnesota hockey, Tom Reid is one of the most well-known and well-liked hockey legends. Tom played 743 games in the NHL. He played nine seasons with the Minnesota North Stars (1969-1978) and two seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks (1967-1969). After his playing career, Tom spent 20 years as color analyst for the Minnesota North Stars, Gopher hockey, NCAA and the Minnesota high school hockey tournament. He has been with the Minnesota Wild broadcast team since their inaugural season in 2000 and Tom Reid’s Hockey City Pub opened just prior to the Wild’s first season. The name Tom Reid comes up in hockey trivia all the time – as the only player to score on a penalty shot on Hall of Fame goaltender Ken Dryden of the Montreal Canadiens.

Ordered the Steak Bites with fries and ordered the Steak Bites to be well done. When they arrived, they were NOT well done and the fries were cool. Finally caught the attention of our server, she had them re-cook them, sadly they were still quite red, but I got hot fries. Waitress confirmed they were supposed to be well done. They comped the meal, but it was frustrating because I have ordered the Steak Bites EVERY time I have gone there and they’ve always been perfectly done. I’ll give them one more try and if they can’t cook well done Steak Bites, I’ll find a new favorite place to eat on 7th Street as there are many options there. Pictures of the Steak Bites are from after the 2nd cooking! The fries were good and hot second time around.

Excellent food. Quiet evening so it was super fun to look at all things hockey. Our waitress forgot about us when it came time for our bill. Other than that, it was a great experience. Located downtown St Paul. I would recommend street parking. The Poutine with shredded chicken was yummy!

Great place to come before the Wild. The food is surprisingly good and the atmosphere is electric! They have cool memorabilia throughout the bar and two sections for more space. It does get a little crowded and you may have to stand before getting a table. The beer prices continue to increase but so does everything else so I guess I can’t complain. We will continue to come here before each game!

Last night I took a walk to get food and landed here. I ordered the jack daniel wings and enchiladas. The wings didn’t really have too much flavor I wasn’t a fan of the sauce. The enchiladas were good but kinda dry but very well seasoned. The bar tender was very nice to me. Acknowledged me as soon as I walked in and sat down. Speedy service and the bar had a nice vibe. If I had to go back it definitely wouldn’t be for the food because what I ordered wasn’t too good. Seemed like a nice spot to watch sports. Maybe I should’ve ordered something else.

Best place to go before a Minnesota Wild game. Be sure to have a poutine and wash it down with a nice cold Molson Canadian. Tom Reid’s does get very busy before a Wild game so get there early to claim your seats. If you just want to watch the game at the restaurant, many drinks are BOGO. Service can be slow before the game but the staff do their best to get you what you need as quick as possible. Salads and sandwich’s are very good here. Parking is available to the west, north and south of the restaurant. If you park in the Tom Reid’s lot to the west you’ll get a coupon for a free drink. It’s about a 5-10 min walk from the arena. Pullman’s are available too. If you go in a non game day you might have the pleasure of running into Tom Reid who is the Wild play by play announcer and former Minnesota North Star. He has lots of old hockey stories. Be sure to give Tom Reid’s a try if you’re in the area!

Love this place, such a relaxing chill vibe. Bar patrons and staff are very friendly and I feel comfortable just hanging out here. Great happy hour and selection of draft beer. Foods pretty good too! Love going here to watch the Wild the nights I can’t afford tickets. Hope this place sticks around for awhile. 🙂

My go to spot before Wild games but also a great spot to stop at on non game days! Friendly service with great food and drinks! They offer some nice discounts before games so definitely worth checking out! Beautiful patio and bar in the back as well! Also any hockey/sports fanatic will enjoy seeing all of the memorabilia throughout the building!

I went here for the first time after The Eagles concert. It was packed with people but the place is big enough to contain such a happy crowd. We found a nice little table in the back room, away from the loud TVs and shared a couple of apps and conversation. Our server was really kindly and welcoming, upbeat and attentive while tending to the needs of a horde of hungry people. She set the vibe for a fun and relaxed date. 10/10 would come here again.
