Ok so the pizza is delicious. Great variety, crispy thin crust, and good quality, the service is great but it’s counter service so the guest does everything but cook the pizza. The only reason for the 3 starts is the smoke that fills the restaurant. Please take a look at the hood and make sure it’s working properly. If it is working correctly then make sure it’s always on while heating slices. Sometimes the cooks get cold In the winter and like to turn it off, from my experience, either way if you’re the owner this should be checked. I’ve been working in kitchens for a long time so I’m not just BSing here. My eyes are hurting and my clothes are smokier than two hours at Benihanas and I only sat inside for 20 minutes. We will return but please address this. Once fixed I’ll adjust this review to its rightful ranking.
I ordered a 12” half cheese and half “Portland” with red sauce and was unfortunately underwhelmed. While the crust was great with a solid crisp, the pizza was extremely floppy and almost greasy. The flavour was fairly bland and I did not taste as much of the red sauce as I had hoped. It almost seemed different than the pizza available by the slice. The pricing of the pizza was also very expensive compared to some of the other options available in the area. I also did get a chance to try the breadstick which was okay at best.
Overall, I can understand why many people like coming here, as the ambience and location is very homey. However, in terms of pizza, I would not recommend it very highly.
Drinks are served in the back, Nikki is a great bar tender. Fresh squeezed juices. Outdoor seating. Pizza.
