Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza has a nice atmosphere and friendly service. We were seated immediately, which was great, and the coal-fired flavor does taste good.
However, the gluten-free option is pricey. You can substitute gluten-free dough, but with the upcharge, a 12-inch pizza comes close to $30! Toppings are extra unless you order a specialty. I had the all-cheese pizza; it tasted good but wasn’t very generous with toppings.
Also important: there’s no dedicated gluten-free prep area. Everything is handled and cooked in the same space, and I did end up having a reaction afterward, so something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive.
We used rewards points this visit, which made it worth it. Otherwise, for the price, it’s hard to justify returning regularly.

I had seen several locations of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, and on Thursday evening, while I was in downtown, I decided to pick up a pizza from Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings.
Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed a great atmosphere, with people enjoying their food and drinks. From the menu, I ordered a 12″ Traditional Pizza with hot finger peppers, mushrooms, olives, and onions as toppings.
My order was ready in about 15 minutes, and I headed home to enjoy it. The pizza was delicious, well-made, and had a great balance of flavors. The toppings were fresh and perfectly complemented the coal-fired crust.
It was a satisfying and flavorful dinner, and the pizza exceeded expectations.

Rarely do I leave a negative review but tonight was now the second time we received a horribly stale pizza with almost no sauce from the South Tampa location. I highly suggest anyone who orders takeout from this place to check your pizza carefully before you go. For a $32.99 pizza this is ridiculous. The pizza was dry as a bone ( no sauce). They charge $4.00 for toppings that they barely put on. We paid for extra cheese too and didn’t get that either. We arrived on time and the pizza was cold and hard.

Order: a special pizza with eggplant. Result: a 50-minute wait, a dried-out crust drowned in canned tomatoes.
From the outside, it seems like a decent place—nice interior, smiling staff—but the food… no, it’s far from Italian. Just cheap fast food dressed up to look Italian.

I hate making bad reviews, but this place was not good. The spaghetti was old. The noodles were hard. I didn’t even finish my meal. The pizza was nothing but grease and cheese. We asked for extra sauce, still barely any sauce on the pizza. If that’s how you like your pizza, that’s fine. We just like sauce. The staff was not very friendly. We had to ask for drink refills. We won’t be going back. The garlic knots were good, though, lol

Let me start with we love your food. And that’s where the positives stop. Ordering takeout from this restaurant is normally a crapshoot whether it is going to be a good or a disaster of an experience. The Staff always seems to be overwhelmed, lacking process or training. Tonight, when my wife placed her order on the phone, she barely got the order to the girl on the phone before she hung up on her (didn’t ask for a name). When she arrived at the restaurant at the 45 min quoted ready time, there were 12 people in line in front of her to get their food and she was told rudely to “leave and come back in 10 minutes”. She arrived at 730, there were people waiting for food that was supposed to be ready at 645. She left your restaurant tonight at 745, one hour after we ordered our food, as we were told you had not started any of our order. Absolutely ridiculous. So, we had to scramble to find dinner for our family. Your hostess was rude, your waitstaff was yelling at kitchen staff because they were putting dine-in order in to-go containers. It was an embarrassing and frustrating experience. You consistently send us coupons asking us to be more regular customers, but this is the experience we frequently encounter. We must wait 6-8 weeks between ordering from your store, so we forget about the previous bad experience. You need to either stop advertising (because you can’t handle the business) or figure out how to run a restaurant.

The Carnivori Pizza: Square pizza with thick cut pepperoni, Italian sausage, baby meatballs and smoky bacon – is a winner for those that want to splurge with an only meat option. It’s bursting with flavors!

A nice clean restaurant for lunch. Our waitress, Olivia W, did a great job. Her recommendation was spot on. She was friendly and attentive. There was plenty of food and it was tasty. The meatball mozzarella sandwich was huge.

Outstanding military discount! Thank you so much, we greatly appreciate it.
The garlic knots are hearty robust dinner rolls with plenty of butter and garlic.
The Paulie’s pie pizza was decent but we think we would try something different next time. The peppers are spicy so make sure you like that sort of thing and remember to tell them you want sweet peppers instead if spicy isn’t your thing. They may not ask you so just keep that in mind.
Overall we were so grateful for the discount and liked the food well enough that we will try additional meals at Anthony’s.
