Best NY style pizza on LI.
Best selection, best quality, just the absolute best. The pazzo slice is phenomenal. Their ala vodka grama style is perfect. Thin , crispy and with the perfect fold.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s better in Brooklyn but on the island, Umberto’s takes the cake hands down.

I love in Suffolk County and for years a coworker would always bring food from here. The chicken marsala was always my favorite. Took a ride to visit for the 1st time. Its was pretty packed, during the day (to me, that means they are doing something right). Service was great. The chicken marsala was just as good as I remembered. We also had the baked clams, those were bland. Also tried the chicken francese. The texture was good, however, there was way too much lemon happening. Enough to make you pucker lol. Im not sure if it was just an off day. The place is definitely popular, and I still stand by their marsala. Wouldn’t reorder the others.

Deeply Disappointing Experience at Umberto’s in Wantagh
I rarely leave reviews, but our visit to Umberto’s in Wantagh was so disappointing that it deserves to be shared.
To drink, we only ordered water, and it genuinely felt like we were judged for that from the start based on the service and attention we received.
We started with the fried calamari, which came out really quickly but was cool, rubbery, and tasted like it had been microwaved, not freshly fried. Definitely not fresh, and not what you expect from a place with their reputation.
From there, things only got worse. Our main meals took over 30 minutes to come out on a Monday — and this was for a chicken Caesar salad and a sausage hero. When they finally arrived, the quality was subpar. The grilled chicken on the salad was cold, clearly not freshly cooked. The sausage hero was honestly a disgrace: maybe two sausages total, sliced up, tossed on bread, covered with sauce and cheese, and toasted. For something that took that long, it felt careless and thrown together, for the price that it was.
We had an appointment to keep, so when the food came out I asked for a To-go container right away and I took the hero to go. We ended up eating it the next day for lunch — and both of us got sick a few hours later. It’s now been three days, and our stomachs still aren’t right. That’s unacceptable and honestly concerning.
Between the poor food quality, the long wait times, and the aftermath, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. We won’t be returning.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at this restaurant. Despite being a busy Friday night, we were served quickly and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.
I had meatball parm with spaghetti and my wife had some kind of chicken dish thing….I dont know what it was…but we enjoyed our food, the cleanliness of the facility and the attractive dining room.
I felt that the portions…at least mine…was a little too small, but the high quality of the ingredients more than made up for it.
I would definitely go back again and we will the next time we are in the area and thinking about Italian food.

Umberto’s is hands down one of the best pizza spots in Wantagh. I’ve tried a lot of local places, and nothing really comes close, definitely way better than Phil’s down the street. The pizza here is everything you want: crispy crust, perfectly melted cheese, and sauce that actually has flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients and really take their time with it. It’s not just the pizza either, all of their food options are delicious. Whether it’s pasta, heroes, or something quick from the counter, it all tastes fresh and made with care. The only thing I’d say is it’s a tiny bit pricey, but honestly, the flavor and quality totally make up for it. You’re paying for good food, and you can taste it. The staff were super nice and respectful when I came in, and they had my order ready fast. The place itself has a really open, calm atmosphere, not loud or cramped like a lot of other pizzerias. It’s easy to figure out where to order and where to pick up your food, which makes it super convenient if you’re in a rush. Plus, they have a wide selection of food ready to go if you just walk in without ordering ahead. Overall, Umberto’s is one of those places you can count on every single time. Great food, great service, and a solid vibe all around. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for top-quality pizza.

We Love this place! Food, service and atmosphere are top notch! It is always on our list of places to eat on every trip to Long Island. Not only did we eat dinner there on Friday night we went back for pizza on Sunday(we bring real NY pizza back to PA). Friday night was all about pasta, penne vodka, spaghetti carbonara and shrimp montanara with mushrooms. OMG! Each dish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Our server “M” was fantastic, she was always there when we needed her. We have been here many times and have never had any issues with service or food. If you want some incredible Italian food and great service be sure to stop by King Umbertos, you will not be disappointed. The front half is a pizzeria and let me tell you what, I could spend the whole day there eating slices. They have a boat load of slices to try. We always get a grandmas pizza to bring home and pound down a few slices while we are waiting. They have added a patio area since our last vist and it is a super cool looking area that we will try next visit. If you’re ever in Long Island stop by and give them a try, You will not be disappointed. Thanks for the hats I will represent! #kulinarymafia approved

Just ordered delivery through uber for a chicken parm and slice of pizza as it states on the receipt. Open the bag that was stapled shut to only find the slice of pizza which to me wasn’t the big deal because we all forget things BUT I called Umbertos right away to let them know that I was missing an item and all they say was “I’m pretty sure we sent everything.” I explained it definitely wasn’t because I opened a stapled bag and all that was there was a single slice of pizza. Needless to say I got no help or reconciliation of the situation just a “we sent everything try calling uber.” This was really disappointing considering this is my family and I’s go to pizza place. And while yes I can potentially reconcile through uber it was just upsetting the lack of time, effort or customer care that went into to the short conversation with the person from umbertos to just try and get the missing piece of our meal.

Ordered a lasagna and a gluten free pizza the gluten free pizza was great but when they put half in a box for me a slice went missing! No one told me they dropped it or anything just wasn’t there when I went to have the rest later. Very sad about that since it’s so expensive. The lasagna was more of a meat sauce pie just one circle of pasta surrounding a meat puddle. And unfortunately we were seated right next to the door which I can take but I was really looking forward to that slice of pizza that was taken from me 🙁 .
