Reviews
Food & Atmosphere (2/5 Stars):
The food was the most inconsistent part of the meal. While the signature soup, salad, and breadsticks were as good as ever, the main entrée lacked the flavor and quality I typically expect. For dinner, the dining experience was met with moderate noise, which is typical for a family-style Italian chain. It wasn’t too loud and allowed for easy conversation.
Service (2/5 Stars):
The service was just okay. While the staff were courteous, the overall attentiveness and speed were lacking. It wasn’t a terrible experience, but it was certainly slow and not as responsive as I would have liked.
Key Details for Future Diners:
• Group Suitability: This location is suitable for all group sizes, which is great for large families or parties.
• Cost: The prices here are firmly in the $20–$30 per person range for a dinner entrée and a drink.
• Reservations: I appreciated that reservations are not required; walk-ins are welcome.
• Parking: Parking is plentiful as the restaurant is located near the Hammond Square Mall.
• Accessibility: The restaurant is very wheelchair accessible, with plenty of space to maneuver in all directions.
• Vegetarian Options: I’d recommend dining in for the best experience with their vegetarian offerings.
In summary, the Olive Garden in Hammond delivers the expected brand consistency in atmosphere and accessibility, but the food and service fell below par on this particular visit. If you’re looking for a reliably accessible location that handles large groups, this is a decent option, but temper your expectations for a flawless dining experience.
My bowl barely has pasta and its DRY.
No extra Alfredo.
Cold bread, barely toasted breadsticks.breads ticks.
Fifty bucks. Smh
b/c I ordered my regular Chicken Parm & Zuppa soup – my soup had NO kale & then the 1 they brought back out to me had the fresh raw whole kale ♀️ – they apologized & advised “maybe” it was the bottom of the soup & something that they normally do like 2 bags & that day they had to do extra of everything & just added the kale – I agreed to wait & they did bring me another one that was correct after waiting about 10-12 minutes . Other than that everything else was great ! Their spinach dip is always on point ! The Hubbie loves the Aqua Pana’s as you can tell but 1 thing I noticed they just have stopped doing was offering the samples of wine the last few times I haven’t seen it and we haven’t been asked either (we don’t drink) .
It wasn’t spicy (to me) at all, maybe to some, the sirloin tips were very tender, the imported shrimp was good as well .
The sauce , tomatoes and spinach made the meal.
Very good ., so glad I ordered it .
They start you out with 3 bread sticks, I believe it use to be 5 or 6, when you ask for more you only get 2.
The salad was mediocre, wasn’t there for the salad but rather the meal itself.
The server, Miss Scarlett was fantastic, friendly and professional.
Will definitely be back. Can’t beat the lunch specials with endless soup and bread sticks!
