Social Profile:

Gopchang (곱창) can refer to the small intestines of cattle (or pig) or to a gui (grilled dish) made of the small intestines. The letter is also called gopchang-gui (곱창구이; “grilled beef small intestines”). In Korean cuisine, it is stewed in a hot pot (gopchang-jeongol), grilled over a barbecue (gopchang-gui), boiled in soup with other intestines (naejang-tang), or made into a sausage (sundae). Gopchang was eaten as a rich source of iron and vitamins, it was served as a health supplement. Today, gopchang is regarded as a delicacy. It is a popular anju (food served and eaten with soju), as it helps break down alcohol. Gopchang Story BBQ has been specializing in Korean horumonyaki style BBQ since 2004.

Busy, bustling restaurant offering Korean barbecue, fried rice & other classic fare.

Located in the heart of K-Town, Gopchang Story offers an elegant yet approachable setting with quality cuts and top-tier service. The staff assists with the grilling to ensure everything is cooked perfectly.

If you are looking for authentic flavors and a lively atmosphere, Gopchang Story BBQ is an excellent choice. My husband and I had a wonderful experience there during our visit to New York. For a memorable trip, I highly recommend enjoying a high-energy KBBQ dinner at this location

One of my favorite Korean restaurants for years. Nestled on the 2nd floor this place serves an authentic specialty of marinated intestines, tripe, and other organ meats, or offal on an induction-heated tabletop cooker. It’s a little smokey so maybe don’t wear your nicest clothes or anything white (the sauces are deep red or brown as with most Korean restaurants). Once you’ve enjoyed the meat, you have the option to have fried rice prepared using the leftover juices on the pan (if you still have room). Great with cheese or fish roe! They have lovely sides for the table, including a few kinds of kimchi and marinated vegetables. Also, try their sun-dae (a traditional sausage, not a dessert).

I really like beef intestines, so I brought my friend here to try this place since it’s very popular and a lot of people said the food was good. To my surprise, the service was extremely poor. When we were ready to order, we couldn’t see any server for quite a while. I waved my hand, and one of the waitresses noticed but completely ignored me. After finally placing our order, the drinks also took some time to arrive. The staff member grilling our food was cold and unfriendly the entire time. When I asked for chili sauce, he said they didn’t have any. I thought to myself, how could a Korean restaurant not have chili sauce? Especially when even the side dishes already had chili peppers—it just didn’t make sense. I didn’t want to argue too much, but overall, while the food was okay (a bit overcooked and tough), the service was really disappointing. I won’t be coming back.

Food – this place came up on my TikTok and one of my notes was that it looked really good. I didn’t know however that is a place that specializes in intestines now I really wanted to try them, but my partner did not so we did not get the intestines however we did get everything else and it was delicious but I now have to go back and get the intestines because after I posted on my social media all of my friends said they love this place and that the intestines were fantastic so I must go back

It’s a little hidden around the corner and upstairs so it’s a little tricky to find and the inside is very cute. Very simple. It was really enjoyable

This place specializes in grilled beef intestines, and it’s a great spot if you’re craving something different. We had the spicy mixed combo, and while the sauce tends to burn fast on the grill, our server helped cook everything for us, which was super helpful and made the experience easier.

The small intestines had the best texture and flavor. Large intestines were good but a little too rich after a few bites. Tripe was just okay. The rice cakes stood out—chewy and soaked in sauce.

Didn’t try the fried rice at the end because the grill was already a bit greasy.

I never expected a BBQ place to cook on an induction stove instead of real fire. The gopchang had an offal smell, and simple heating on an induction stove couldn’t get rid of it at all. As someone who loves gopchang, this was honestly the worst one I’ve ever had.
The fried rice also tasted really weird — both of my friends said it even had a strange gasoline-like flavor.
On top of that, the server’s attitude was extremely rude. The menu design was bizarre — everything is sold as a single portion, and you can’t order more than three portions of anything. When we asked the waiter about the menu, he responded impatiently and rudely, which really shocked us.
Lastly, the prices were ridiculously high. Even items in the set were still charged per person and each portion was tiny. For around $80 per person, you could easily enjoy authentic BBQ cooked over real fire somewhere else — but here, all you get is bad food heated on an induction stove and terrible service.

The worst experience I’ve be has a restaurant. We were seated in the middle table and there was an area where you get to through our table. The server rudely asks my friend to move because of it. They were also very rude and gave us attitude when we had a question about the cooking of the intestine. NEVER COMING BACK!!!

My bf and i’s favorite gopchang story location, better than the flushing location. All of our friends agree. We come here all the time 10/10 no notes.

We usually get 1 serving of small intestines and fried rice to share and it’s the perfect amount.
