We are from WI, so finding somewhere reputable to eat was a bit tricky given how vast the U.P. is. We stumbled across this place via google maps today and I’m so glad we did! Our bartender/waitress was so fun and down to earth. She called me “honey” the entire time and made us feel so welcome. The food was fresh (like she cut the potatoes right in front of us before frying!) and quick and hot! Would definitely come back again if that lady was working 🙂

I recently visited the UP Pub at 315 5th St, in Calumet, MI. I had read that this pub had a good burger. Well, I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and it was a delicious burger. The bartender not only made the burger but also provided a selection of drinks. It is a very interesting atmosphere inside that has a lot of beer memorabilia on the walls..it’s worth a return visit to try some of the other menu items.

Not a big menu if you are stopping for a bite, however the burger we had both had was wonderful. They even served the fries with ranch, which is a huge plus in my book! Good bar food!

Mike is one of the best bartenders I’ve ever encountered in my travels! He can make ANY drink you could think of and absolutely LOVES special requests!

Holy Toledo, what a find! Ice cold drinks, and the best hand-pattied burgers and hand-cut fries we’ve ever had! The bartender was super friendly, too. It will be a definite destination when we come back to this area.
