Had such a great time at The Ugly Grouper. The drinks were amazing. Fresh, well balanced, and exactly what you want when you are enjoying the island atmosphere. You can tell they care about quality.
The grouper tacos were truly one of a kind. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Not your typical fish taco at all. These are the kind you think about later and wish you had ordered another round.
Fun vibe, great service, and food that absolutely delivers. We will definitely be back.

Our server was the sweetest. We are traveling and she told us about some tourist attractions. The menu has something for everyone. We went on a Thursday for lunch and they had live music. Great cocktails

Huge outdoor tables that accommodated all 10 of us with no issue. Only short fall was the wait time after we ordered our food (20-30min) and the parking situation. If it’s a common dinner time (5pm on a Friday, like when we were there) expect to be parking on a side street. Not a big issue, and the walk is good for your health!
Happy hour is from 3-5p. Plenty of space for kids to run around and play too; ring hook game, corn hole, giant jenga, large fish with light up eyes. Rob B was our waiter, great guy all around.

This was our very first dinner during our stay on AMI. The outside patio is great and they had awesome live music. The band was interactive and gave my son a tambourine to play with while all the kids danced.
We ordered the crab cake fried green tomatoes and the grouper nugget dinner with pineapple coleslaw and Caribbean rice. I personally do not like coleslaw but theirs was absolutely delicious! We ordered the fish & chips for my son and he loved it too! Once more of our friends made it to town we all met up there for a group dinner another night and it was awesome. Everyone enjoyed themselves and they can accommodate large tables. Highly recommend!

This place is fantastic. We stopped in after walking over at Robinson Preserve on a beautiful day in January. The live acoustic music was really nice and at the perfect volume, not too loud. The grouper tacos, clam chowder, and island chicken sandwich were all phenomenal. Also shout out to Sam for the great service!

Our first experience with as a bad one! Our waitress Rosie sucked! It took her about 20 minute come check on us after first sitting down! AND THEN does not ask the entire table what we drinking requiring us to wait even longer (and no it was not busy at all). Food was mediocre! Grouper tacos were 5/10! Rice was cold! And after asking for our tab it took her about 30 minute if not more to bring it out! Our experienced sucked and we won’t be back! If you do decide to visit anyway I hope it’s better

We had excellent service. It waiter was the best part of our evening. Their menu is above average for the typical casual fish place with more sandwiches than entrees. Only one soup and no vegetarian items other than fried appetizers and a salad. I ate three sides of mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and broccoli which were good but not the same as a full meal. The rest of our table enjoyed their Grouper sandwich and Grouper kebabs. The live music was very good. *Please note: this restaurant does not have any indoor seating. There is a partial roof covering half the tables and they do provide heaters, but it is not enough to be comfortable while dining unless you are well bundled up and it’s not windy.*

We went for an early dinner and the hostess and our server were friendly and attentive.
As for the food, it lacked flavor. We ordered the Coastal Clam Chowder (tasted like it was out of a bag and super thick), the Angus burger (basic) and the Mahi Sandwich.
It is a convenient spot for a quick bite, but not what we were expecting.

We love the ugly grouper! Stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat for dinner & had another great experience (as usual)! To eat, we had the grouper tacos and the fish and chips. There’s a reason the grouper tacos are a top pick – the cheese shell really take the tacos to the next level. While a tid bit on the messy side, it’s well worth it!!
