Watami is an all you can eat sushi and recently added Korean BBQ restaurant. I have been almost 10 times and it never gets old. It is very affordable for their lunch price of about $15. The fish tastes high quality, and the variety of rolls, appetizers, and ice creams is vast. They also have beers and spirits to sip while you eat. The atmosphere has changed almost every time I have been but it’s always gotten better. The place is very clean and they also have a robot server which is unique. One of my favorite places to eat in Indy.

The best dining experience I’ve had, as someone with extreme social anxiety. I rarely go out to sit down restaurants because the idle chit chat with a server makes me kinda wanna die, but at this place, you are seated, they ask you what you want to drink, and then you order all your food off an iPad. The all you can eat sushi was amazing. $25 a person? Worth every penny. And theres an adorable robot cat that brings orders out of the kitchen. The restaurant was nice and quiet, and the staff was polite. I 100000% will be back

I’ve been here acouple times now and can say that it’s a very good place to go and fat all you can eat sushi. The prices and are pretty average for all you can eat sushi. They have a nice little section of items you are able to order from. I think my favorite part by far is that you can order on an iPad. It’s pretty cool. You don’t have to worry about waiting for a waiter to come back around to order you can just do it from your table. The sushi is pretty good overall and taste fresh. I really liked my visits here and definitely will go again. I highly recommend checking it out !

The food was truly all you can eat. Ordering is done via an iPad at the table. The sushi was good, but not great. We did not try the Korean barbecue items. The tempura was excellent, we had shrimp, mushroom, and squid. The seaweed salad was refreshing and delicious. I think we definitely got our money’s worth; there were three in our party, one $8 bottle of sake, for a total of just over $100, plus tip.

I can’t even remember and name all of the rolls we ate but all you can eat is always a good time.
Their sushi cuts are precise and always satisfying. Everything seems to be made with care. The entrees and appetizers were very hot out the grease when served. Hottest Rangoon I’ve ever eaten . Chicken cutlet wasn’t good tho. Spring rolls were good and so was the plum wine. Didn’t like the chicken wings neither but the teriyaki chicken was good.

The $14.95 Hamachi Kama I ordered tonight was definitely just cut up seared salmon filets. There were zero fish collar bones anywhere to be found. Cooked well and fine to eat I’ll admit, but definitely a lie about what this was

I ordered my standard spicy tuna roll and spicy spider roll. The spicy tuna and the spider roll, he meat was ground up. The tuna tasted a little like tuna, but the spider roll definitely did not taste like blue crab, my friend left all of his practically, so I took his home and tried that later did not taste like salmon. and because I couldn’t identify it as fish because it was ground up the whole time I was wondering if I was actually eating what I had ordered.

I have been coming to Watami for almost 6 years – since I was 20 and I am 25 now (almost 26). It used to be so so good and still is, however the cleanliness is questionable.

When ordering my potstickers, there was a grey hair on it. Then, I went to the bathroom and the toilet paper had yellow stuff all over the roll and there was some strange liquid around the toilet bowl. Kind of gross.

Waiters never say much, but I don’t mind that. They did raise the price to include the Korean bbq in the price, which I think is “eh.” I didn’t like the Korean bbq last time I was here and would prefer not to pay for it included in the price. Sushi is definitely their specialty.

If you want great raw fish, go to Moar Poke! It’s downtown and they have boba. Very affordable, delicious (family owned) and just very consistent!

The server was barely civil till after the meal was done and we paid. None of them smiled politely till we were leaving. This was our first time. I asked if he could explain the process. He said all you can eat and everything is included. I asked a couple of times because I didn’t believe him but he verified -everything- both times and with a bit of a tone. The drinks are not included, I was not surprised but found out when he handed me the receipt. Almost 3 dollars for non refillable hot tea at a restaurant like this is way overpriced. He didn’t refill my water till after I paid. They take the plates practically before you remove the last piece to put on the grill. Bottom line, the food was good, they aren’t very friendly and it is a learn as you go diy place that you spend approximately 30 dollars a person to cook for yourself. I would have liked dessert but it wasn’t offered. The screen turns off and I could not figure out how to turn it back on. We will for sure think twice before going back.
