Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

My wife and went to Whataburger on Beltline rd in Decatur AL on Feb 17th, 2026 around 6:30pm for dine in. There was a guy in front that got obviously frustrated about no one taking his order and he walked out. My wife and I waited about 10 min and employees walked past without a word. Others in the back looked at us and said nothing. No one and I mean NO ONE acknowledged our existence. There was ONE couple inside eating. Not busy at all. We finally left. This was a PATHETIC lack of service by any measure. I’m a native Texan and couldn’t wait for this store to open. Now, I have zero desire to ever set foot in it again.

We came in tonight with a bunch of people from our church, including a lot of little kids, and the whole staff at 10:00 pm was so amazing! They were friendly, kind, and were not annoyed with us in the least bit. The greeted our big group with huge smiles. Edward made sure all the kids had coloring pages and Anthony came out and made sure the food was what we wanted. Couldn’t recommend this location enough

Food is decent and service is pretty good. The menu has a pretty good selection so maybe my four stars will go to five as I try some more items and see how the service is on future visits. I like that they have two drive thru menus where you can give orders to keep from getting stuck behind that one person that takes forever if you are in a hurry. Another big plus is it is true dual drive through. It stays two lanes instead of both merging back to one and they bring your food out to you and run your card in the second lane, pretty impressive.

Jay the window worker is absolutely horrible customer service. I didn’t even finish my order because I was constantly cut off with an increasingly exacerbated “ anything else “. Then when I let them know of a bad echo that was coming from the machine I was looked at like I was the problem. Then ignored and rudely handed my food. As of this moment I won’t be back and I’ll be sure to let my friends , family, and colleagues know of the horrible service at this particular whataburger especially from jay

I came here with my out of this world handsome husband and my kids and the staff here were AMAZING!! I have worked in the food industry for years and this was one of the most impressive staffs I have ever encountered. Edward and Anthony, along with the whole staff, was amazing. Edward and Anthony were phenomenal. Our church family came in tonight, about 25 of us with kids, at 10:00 pm, and the whole staff was so kind to all of us, it was the best service I ever had. Food was wonderful and service was even better. Thankful for the staff here!

This was our first time eating here. Overall, it was good. The burgers and onion rings were hot and fresh. My only complaint would be the aggregios amount of sauce that put on the sandwiches…. And then only gave us 2 napkins.

While I have never had a bad experience at this place, tonight will be the night that will overshadow any good service I have had there. I ordered a jalapeño whataburger meal with a Dr. Pepper with no ice and a banana pudding shake. The burger was supposed to come with two patties, two slices of cheese and jalapeños. As you can see that is not what I received and by the time I got home to see what was given to me, I neither had the time or energy to go back. The only thing they got right in this picture is the Dr. Pepper no ice and the milkshake for my wife. I even asked them to make it a large (Whata size) and only got a medium, I wasn’t charged for the large but I got a large drink, so naturally I assumed that I got what I ordered ( I know better) but I just wanted to get home. I would understand if it was packed out busy but there was only two cars in front of me nobody behind me. I am not going to give up on this place but this is just unacceptable.
