We had a great experience at this restaurant! We tried the honey chilli cauliflower and aloo tikki chaat—both were absolutely delicious. The cauliflower was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of spice and sweetness, and the chaat was bursting with flavor and freshness. For drinks, we had a mango lassi and a virgin mojito, both refreshing and a perfect complement to the meal. Great food, good portions, and friendly service—definitely recommend! And the service is so good i like it..❤️❤️

Disappointing experience overall. The food was a mixed bag, the naan and kofta were fresh, flavorful, and authentic, but the non-veg platter was soggy and underwhelming. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest letdown. It took 5 minutes just to be seated despite only one other table being occupied, and about 30 minutes to receive our drinks and appetizers. Dinner took another 30 minutes after that.
There were only four customers in total during our visit and two servers, yet the staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. No smiles, no check-ins, and no follow-up to see how the meal was going or if we needed anything else. With better service, this could’ve been a very different experience.

I ordered vegetable momos at Urban Maharaja in Bolton and was served chicken instead. I am a Hindu and lifelong vegetarian, and this caused serious religious distress.
The manager later acknowledged via text message that it was a mistake, but there was no proper written apology identifying the restaurant, and a promised email from head office never arrived even after a week.
This raises concerns about food labeling, staff training, and separation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. For people with religious or dietary restrictions, this is not a small error.
I am not posting this for compensation—only to raise awareness and encourage better accountability.

A special shout-out to our server Jasmine — she was absolutely fantastic! Extremely friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Her service really elevated the experience.

I had an amazing experience at Urban Maharaj, and a big part of that was thanks to Jasmin. She was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. She explained the menu clearly, gave great recommendations, and checked in at the right moments without being overbearing. Her positive attitude and professionalism really elevated the whole dining experience. Customer service like hers is rare — definitely a reason I’ll be coming back. Highly recommend asking for Jasmin if you visit!

We had lunch here. It was quite empty at that time but still the food took a long time. The food is good and the flavors are mild and easy on gut. But I just couldn’t get over the Padmavat mural on the wall. Very shabby!

My boyfriend suggested this restaurant tonight because I was craving Indian food. He’s been here before and sad the food was great. Well he was absolutely right! Ritu was a fabulous server and helped us choose a delicious meal. Mango Panzarotti and Chili chicken were so flavourful. The naan was crispy and light. The beef samosas were filled so plentifully with deliciousness- and cooked to a perfect crispness and not greasy. Can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

Just came back from visiting with my family. Loved everything about this restaurant. It’s not too busy, so it’s nice. We went for a family members birthday and they allowed us to bring our own cake and served it for us. Our host reetu was beyond accommodating. The vibe, the energy, and the staff are 11/10. Thank you so much; it was our first time but most definitely not our last.

Urban Maharaja Bolton is the best Indian food in the area. I’ve been going here for a few years now and the taste has always been consistent. Proper homestyle flavour, and the portions are really good for the price.
The staff is also very friendly and always treat you nicely.
Recently I found out they started tiffin service as well, and it’s actually amazing. Good quantity, fresh food, and very reasonable.
Highly recommend this place to anyone in Bolton looking for good Indian food. This is my go-to spot!

This review is long overdue. Urban Maharaja in Bolton is outstanding. Our family has ordered from this location more than 50 times, and the food is consistently excellent. The flavors are always balanced with the perfect blend of seasoning. I have not had 1 complaint over the past 2 years.
