This is not my first time here. I’ve visited several times before and always had a good experience. That’s why, when I came to Hamburg again, I chose Yin once more. Unfortunately, this visit was very disappointing.
I ordered a seafood platter that included garlic oysters. One oyster was properly cooked, but the other was almost raw. When I pointed this out to the owner, I was told that some customers eat raw oysters and that undercooked oysters are fine to eat.
My concern is: are raw oysters and garlic oysters made from the same quality of oysters? More importantly, I specifically ordered garlic oysters and clearly stated that I do not eat raw oysters. Despite this, the owner insisted that “raw is fine, foreigners eat it all the time, you’re just not used to it.” I found this response quite unacceptable.
The lobster was very small and did not seem fresh — the meat in the claws was completely broken apart.
The langoustine was also not fresh; the meat in the body was loose and mushy.
I used to consider this a high-quality restaurant, but after this visit, I really don’t understand how the quality control has declined to this level. As a long-time customer, I am very disappointed.

This was my second visit since I really enjoy seafood, and overall the food was tasty. The vongole, though, had a strong Chinese-style seasoning that didn’t quite suit my taste. The seafood set comes in a very generous portion, so it’s worth considering before you order. Out of everything we tried, the fried rice was definitely the highlight. Just a note—English isn’t widely spoken here, so keep that in mind when visiting.

Very fresh and delicious seafood which we did not expect that we could find in Germany. It is even better than many Chinese seafood restaurants in Hong Kong. Highly recommend this restaurant to any seafood lovers visiting Hamburg.

Food was awesome. Canton style seafood place in Europe is very rare, usually they only carry a few dishes, but here I could find almost everything I miss about Hong Kong

Absolutely delicious and authentic. Service is also great. We were very hungry and almost over ordered but were advised to start and order again later if we were still hungry. We really appreciated the honesty! We would have ended up with too much food and wasted it otherwise.

Very fresh taste and the fish soup is delightful. I’ve visited the place twice now and am pleased with the food. Portion size is small, service could check more for guests that have requests.
All dishes came nicely presented and although the serving size for things such as the Octopus Arms is on the smaller size of the spectrum we didn’t leave the restaurant hungry.
I’d recommend the place – albeit it is my first seafood-specialized experience in Hamburg so bear mind to other reviews.
