We’ve been enjoying Sushi Garden for over a decade now, and this was our first time visiting with our daughter – and it certainly didn’t disappoint! From our very first visit to now, Sushi Garden has always been a standout, and bringing our daughter along made it even more special.
The sushi is as fresh and delicious as ever, with a variety that never fails to impress. Whether you’re a sushi lover or new to it, there’s something for everyone. The presentation is always top-notch, and the flavors are consistently amazing.
But it’s not just the sushi that keeps us coming back – the ramen is truly fantastic. The noodles are perfectly cooked, and the broth is rich and flavorful. Our daughter, who’s a huge fan of ramen, absolutely loved it. She couldn’t stop raving about it – definitely a win for her first Sushi Garden experience!
The seafood starters are always a great way to start the meal – light, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was perfect.
As always, the service was fantastic. The staff were so friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear they put so much care into everything they do, from the food to the service.
If you haven’t been yet, make sure you check out Sushi Garden next time you’re in Brighton. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-timer like our daughter, it’s a dining experience you won’t forget. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
However, the food was a bit of a mixed experience. The tonkotsu ramen was lacking in flavour. We were expecting a thick, rich, and creamy broth, but it wasn’t the case during our visit. It was quite different from the tonkotsu ramen we’ve had at other Japanese restaurants, and unfortunately, it didn’t feel worth the price.
The karaage was also disappointing. It looked more like battered chicken and didn’t have that crispy crust or light powdery coating we usually associate with authentic karaage. For the price, it wasn’t what we expected.
On a positive note, the rolls and takoyaki were great, and the beef ramen was okay. Overall, it was an average experience with some hits and misses.
Not too fancy or overpriced either! Would recommend for those not looking for fast food sushi but instead a genuine experience.
The staff member who served me was polite and informative.
The food was extremely tasty and quality was 10/10.
Will come again.
The food is served exactly the same way, on those little trays. We left with full stomachs, just as we experienced back then. The taste and flavor of the food were amazing. We finished with a nice dessert and tea.
On top of it all, the staff were wonderful and very pleasant. We will definitely be coming back.
Been meaning to go since moving to Brighton and finally visited!
Amongst the best pork katsu curry I’ve ever had Juicy, flavourful breaded cutlets and rich but not overpowering sauce!
Fresh, well presented and flavourful sushi, too. Plus delicious deserts to top off a lovely meal
Staff were very friendly and attentive, welcoming – we’ll definitely go back sometime!
You can see and taste why Sushi Garden has been around for 20+ years! There’s a wall of handwritten thank you notes – very sweet!
Keep up the great service and food, you’ve got new returning customers!
We first visited Sushi Garden on Preston Street about a decade ago and always remembered it as an extraordinary place. We were a little sceptical when we decided to go back, wondering if it was still the same amazing experience we remembered.
To our delight, not only was the food as great as we recalled, but the restaurant is still run by the same wonderful people. It was so great to catch up with them and see that they are still providing that exceptional, high-quality Japanese culinary skill.
The flavour and quality of the food absolutely blew us away once again, and the service was just as friendly and attentive as we remembered. Sushi Garden is, and will remain, a place we highly recommend to all our friends and family.
Thank you for all the great memories!
