You can mix your own sauce at the sauce bar too. Service was good, and the taro ice cream I had at the end tasted great, super creamy and rich in flavour. Not too sweet either.
Spacious seating as well.
Overall 5/5, would come back again!
This place is perfect. I get to pick my ingredients and I don’t have anyone else sticking their chopsticks inside my soup.
They also let me take my left overs for a perfect next day lunch.
But this location? Even the word sorry was never even heard from them. I didn’t even finished my bowl cuz it was already cold. All green onions were also remove while there were still cilantros on it when they gave it back to me. They should know better that just replacing it with a new bowl is a lot better than giving it back to me already cold, no green onions and still have a bit cilantros on it.
I havent eaten in this location for so long cuz my previous experiences here are also bad. People seems to keep passing by to us and keep ignoring us when we already want icecream and bowls take too long to give to use but when they do, noodles are already saggy, and all same situations, saggy noodles and ice cream. I remember one time, when my and my gf waiting for someone to approach us when we were waiting for ice-cream but no one dared to even ask us if we want ice-cream as they should. That time the 2 people beside us already been approached and given ice-cream even tho we finished first than them. The store employees seems to have personal issue with us, me and my gf dont even know why. We used to visit this location a lot before cuz this seems the closest to the skytrain but not anymore when I started driving. The only reason we ate in this location again because we came from the Landmark after watching a movie. But didn’t expect to have another bad experience again even after the long time of not visiting the location.
We included all the best possible ingredients in our dish with miso soup as the broth. The best part is you pay by weight. The staff is really nice and welcoming. They even give you a complimentary soft serve ice cream cone in the end. We had a delightful experience enjoying the best noodle soup and with our exclusive ingredients. Since it was our first time after sign up, we even got a Mango witch Brew smoothie by redeeming our initial sign up points
This place is always crowded and there’s always a lineup for the food; so make sure you look at the varieties online so that it’s easy while deciding on what you’d like to eat. And if you’re unable to finish your meal, you can always pack it. We will be back for more 🙂
What’s lovely is seeing people of all backgrounds gathered around hot pots, chatting and laughing, clearly pleased with both the food and the service. There’s something quietly satisfying about a place that manages to make everyone feel at home while keeping the broth bubbling just right.
The only real drawback is the paid parking, an unavoidable modern nuisance. Perhaps it’s a gentle nudge to travel green, especially since this Big Way sits conveniently right by the SkyTrain station exit. All the more reason to arrive hungry and car-free, ready for a proper hot pot feast without worrying about the meter ticking outside.
Thank you Hot Pot, and thank you Caitlin!
Today I ordered a drink and the staff was just busy cleaning the drink station. The table that sat after us got their two drinks before me. I had to directly ask the staff to check my order and even then I had to wait a while. Only when I had to keep staring at the drink station one employee got me the drink, and it wasn’t even properly mixed I had to shake my drink to mix it.
Honestly there’s more than an hour left before closing and it feels like all the staff cares about is closing down the restaurant rather than our order. Felt really unappreciated.
