we got in line and picked out our food and opted for all you care to eat and paid. we ate some. the entrees were all right. chicken was the best. got back in line to receive second round of selections, but had to wait in line for about 20 minutes. Food was descent, sampled several desserts, but waiting 20 minutes sucked. It was nice drive out there and atmosphere was fine.

The staff was friendly and were helpful. The food is advertised as from scratch but several things, especially the green beans tasted like they came from a can and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant. The price point was great and portion size was excellent. Its not a place that I would seek out but it isn’t terrible either. Stop if you are looking for a filling meal at a reasonable price.

A tasty stop after hitting the Hemlock Cliffs hiking trail in Hoosier National Forest. The food was homestyle and tasty, but not amazing. Service was fine, perhaps a hair pricey on a Saturday (they change prices based on days) but it was a decent overall experience. Appears still family run, so enjoy.

All-American comfort food. And meal with two sides or unlimited is an option. Wednesdays is senior discount.

Cafeteria style service
Excellent food with happy and friendly service.
Nice size portions on each selection.
Fridays, they said they added fish, other days it seemed a choice of meatloaf or chicken one of 4 ways (baked, fried, Bbq; or strips). They offer an all you can eat but we didn’t upgrade the plate to that, and we didn’t leave hungry.

We came here from Eaton, Ohio because a YouTuber (Goodalls Country Kitchen) that I watch did a video here. And it was worth the drive! I was worried the chicken may be dry but was I wrong. Some of the best chicken my wife and I have had. The corn was better than my aunts, who is my standard for corn, and it was so good. Everything was good! Chicken, meatloaf, home made mashed potatoes, dressing that tastes like chicken soup in a casserole, chili, bread, everything was delicious and HOME MADE. Even butter and peanut butter…

Now, the desserts.. they are on a whole different level. Imagine the best chocolate cake and peanut butter pie (we shared each other’s) you have ever had.. this is better. And I highly suggest trying both the pie and cake together. Seriously.

Also, the girls working there are great! So friendly and helpful. It was our first time and they explained how it works. We also suggest getting the “all you care to eat” option. Worth every penny to be able to try things out!

Highly recommended!

I don’t eat the food here, it normally sits out for a bit till people come in. Tips go to majority of workers that worked that specific day. I noticed that waitresses don’t go out and check drinks as much as a normal business would. Plates and trays everywhere. Bonus points on the new TV. They have the strawberry festival and the schwartz music fest, those are good. Honesty is the best policy on reviews.
